Social media reacts to Reba McEntire singing Super Bowl 2024 national anthem ahead of 49ers-Chiefs

Before any fireworks were shot up inside Allegiant Stadium from touchdowns, country music icon Reba McEntire set some off herself prior to kickoff in the 2024 Super Bowl.

The Oklahoma native gave a moving and beautiful rendition of the national anthem that brought Chiefs' defensive lineman Chris Jones to tears, on the 50th anniversary of her singing it for the very first time in public at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City in 1974.

This marks the fourth straight year that a country artist has sung the national anthem at the big game. McEntire joins Eric Church, Mickey Guyton and Chris Stapleton in doing so. Church shared his 2021 performance with Jazmine Sullivan.

Considering McEntire's popularity with fans and success — a three-time Grammy winner — her rendition of the national anthem received a rather positive reaction across social media.
