Social media’s elated reactions to Florida’s huge win over Utah
The Florida Gators have now won 33 consecutive home openers, the longest active streak in the nation.
There was a lot of discussion going into this game. Utah, the defending Pac-12 champions, came into this game as a dark horse playoff team. They certainly played that way tonight.
There were a lot of questions surrounding Florida, however. How would Billy Napier handle his Florida coaching debut? Could Anthony Richardson put together four quarters of high-level quarterback play for the first time in his career? Would the defense look as bad as it did down the stretch of the 2021 season?
All of those questions were answered. While not perfect, and still with a lot of work to do, the Gators managed to weather the storm and came out on top in a fantastic 29-26 victory over the Utes.
