When a player suffers an injury, specifically a devastating, potentially career-ending one, fans look for someone to blame. During the Monday Night Football battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, it was Minkah Fitzpatrick.
On a handoff from Deshaun Watson, Chubb drove up the middle and was hit directly on the knee by Fitzpatrick. Audible gasps fell over the crowd at Acrisure Stadium, indicating the replay was shown on the Jumbotron. Steelers fans chanted “Chubb” and gave him a standing ovation as he was carted off the field.
But NFL fans, particularly of the Browns persuasion, weren’t so classy when it came to the Steelers’ involvement.
I believe Minkah Fitzpatrick's hit on Chubb was dirty & reckless. I don't believe it was a "football" play or a "bang bang" play or "guys just competing" or any cliche ppl use when someone gets injured. Dirty and reckless

Everyone is talking about the Nick Chubb injury which is brutal but what about Minkah Fitzpatrick lowering his shoulder directly at Chubb’s knee? Absolutely trash 🚮

Waking up today wishing that it was just a bad dream.
Minkah Fitzpatrick is one of the dirtiest players in the NFL 🖕

Minkah Fitzpatrick shouldn’t be allowed on a football field until Nick Chubb can play again. That was a dirty ass hit. Didn’t know I could despise Pittsburgh even more

I wish nothing but the worse for Minkah Fitzpatrick you scumbag piece of 💩 That was one of the worst things you could do to someone as likeable as Nick Chubb. You intended to injure him. And no one in the media will have the balls to call him out on it. #Browns
