Soccer star Trinity Rodman, Dennis Rodman's daughter, named to USWNT roster for first time
Trinity Rodman, the daughter of NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, is adding to her impressive résumé: The 19-year-old has been named to the U.S. women's national team for the first time.
Rodman, a forward for the Washington Spirit, is one of 25 players called up by USWNT head coach Vlatko Andonovski for the team's first training camp of the year in Austin, Texas, from Jan. 19-28. Andonovski said the camp will help him determine the roster for next month's SheBelieves Cup, where the United States is the defending champion.
"(Rodman) was one of the most exciting players in the league this past season, and she proved that she can be impactful at the professional level in (National Women's Soccer League)," Andonovski said. "And now with that, she earned a call-up for the national team."

The teen soccer star was drafted to the Washington Spirit in 2021, becoming the youngest player ever to be drafted in the NWSL. She was named the NWSL Rookie of the Year and the U.S. Soccer Young Female Player Of The Year. Andonovski is confident her star power can translate to international play, but in due time.
"We don’t want to rush anything. We’ve got to be patient," Andonovski said. "She is still a young player, but we do want to expose her to the environment where she can get her feet wet a little bit. … And hopefully she can continue growing and show what she was able to do in the league she can do at the international level.”
Rodman will join six of her Washington Spirit teammates at the training camp: goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury, defenders Kelley O’Hara and Emily Sonnett, midfielders Ashley Sanchez and Andi Sullivan and forward Ashley Hatch.

The Newport Beach, California, native recently turned down an invite to join USWNT for two matches in Australia in November, days before the Washington Spirit capped a very difficult season on and off the field with a NWSL Championship, the franchise's first title.
"No one could even begin to put into words, how hard this year was for our team," Rodman reflected on Instagram in December. "But man … this is my family. Love every single human on this amazing squad. FIRST SEASON✅"
