Sixers rookie Isaiah Joe shines in Blue Coats playoff win in Orlando

The G League is meant for young players to go down and develop without the pressure of having to perform at a high level for an NBA team. For Philadelphia 76ers rookie Isaiah Joe, he has been using his opportunity down in the bubble in Orlando and he showed up big time in a playoff win.

The team’s G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, was making their first-ever playoff appearance on Monday and they needed a big performance in order to get a win. Joe delivered by going for 28 points while shooting 7-for-15 from deep while also grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists in a 124-103 win over the Austin Spurs.

Philadelphia’s other rookie, Paul Reed, had 17 points and six rebounds as he continues his strong showing in the G League season while two-way player Rayjon Tucker had 14 points and two rebounds. The Blue Coats will now advance to take on Raptors 905 on Tuesday in the bubble.
