Sixers coach Doc Rivers expresses concern over Danny Green injury

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to come away with an impressive win on Monday as they were a shorthanded group against the Portland Trail Blazers and still came away with a 113-103 win at home.

The Sixers were already down Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, but they then lost Tobias Harris shortly before the game and they then lost Danny Green in the third quarter due to left hamstring tightness.

Before he left, Green scored 11 points, but the way he was hurting and the fact that he had to leave is something that concerns coach Doc Rivers.

“I think his hamstring got tight,” Rivers explained. “I don’t know how bad. I was glad we took him out. He kept grabbing at it. It’s funny, I had someone already at the table when he grabbed it, and then he makes a 3 the next play, but the fact that he wanted to come out, Danny never wants to come out. So, I would say I’m a little concerned with that.”

Green is a very important piece of this Sixers team and the fact that he is getting hurt now during a tough part of the team’s schedule where there are a lot of games in a short amount of time is going to be tough to overcome. They were able to do so on this night, but they will need him to be healthy in the future.

Philadelphia will host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday before heading to the Motor City on Thursday for a back-to-back with the Detroit Pistons.
