Six area players named to Class 3A All-State baseball team.

The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association announced its all-state baseball teams this past week.

Area players dominated the Class 3A team with South Bend Saint Joseph outfielders Jayce Lee and Zachary Stawski earning first-team honors, along with a pair from Glenn in outfielder Joe Chrapliwy and third baseman Brycen Hannah. Mishawaka Marian second baseman JJ Oliver and and Fairfield pitcher Alex Herschberger.

From Bellia to Angel to Burton, These South Bend-area high school stars shined brightest

In Class 4A, Penn pitcher Adam Lehmann took first team honors along with Northridge outfielder Gavin Collins. Penn won the Class 4A IHSAA state baseball championship last month.

Honorable mention in 4A went to Cooper Hums of Penn. Honorable mention in 3A went to Michael Slabaugh of Fairfield, Mason Braun of New Prairie and Bryce LaSane of Marian. Gabe Kahl of Elkhart Christian was honorable mention in Class 1A.
