On the sidelines with Mineral Wells WR Preztynn Harrison

Oct. 2—Get to know Mineral Wells junior wide receiver Preztynn Harrison on and off the field.

How long have you played football and who/what initially got you interested in playing?

"Since I was 3, I would say, my dad coached my flag football team, which inspired me to play football when I got older."

Talk about your time thus far as a student athlete at Mineral Wells. Why do you enjoy being a Ram?

"I enjoy being a Ram because I get to see my friends every day, come to school and have a great practice with Coach (Cody) Worrell and the other coaches as well. I look forward to having a good time every day."

The football team is off to a solid start, talk about the energy of the team this year and what has made you guys so successful?

"I think we're successful because our quarterback Owen Gadd gets us fired up before every game and practice, and he pushes us to be better players. Coach Worrell and all the other coaches push us to be the best we can be at practices, which motivates us to work hard."

Who or what has been your motivation in striving for greatness on the football field?

"My motivation to play football is me coming out here to be the best that I can be. I just push myself to be great and get to that next level that I want to be at — I want to be able to help my mom and my family."

You've pretty much always been the tallest person anywhere you go. Do you like being tall or do you wish you were short instead? Why or why not?

"You know, I like being tall. I can see everything and can reach the top shelf without any problems, but sometimes I do wonder what it would be like to be short. If I was short? I would do everything I could without standing out as much, but like I said, I like being 6-foot-6."

There's obviously always a debate about who the greatest rapper of all time is. Who is your pick for the G.O.A.T. and why?

"I think it has to be Drake in the new school. I like Drake. For old school? Well, I don't really listen to old school rap, but that's all my dad listens to — he's an old head. Every time I get in the car, he's playing some old music. So for me, it would probably be either Tupac or Snoop Dogg."

If you could ask out your celebrity crush on a date, who would it be and where would you take her to dinner?

"I would say Ariana Grande. If we could go wherever I wanted to go? I'd probably take her to Texas Roadhouse — it ain't low class or high class — it's just a chill spot in the middle. Then, I could take her somewhere else and see what she wants to do after."

If you could have any type of superpower, what would it be and why?

"First, I would probably have speed like The Flash, because they're not gonna see you — you're too fast, they can't catch you. Speed is everything. Other than that, I would probably want to have invisibility. If someone is chasing you, well I'm gonna be too fast. and if that doesn't work, then I can turn invisible — you can't see me! You'll walk straight past me. I would just joke around with my friends and my mom all the time — I love to joke around with people and it would be even more fun if they couldn't see me."
