Series recap: The Jumbo Shrimp's postseason hopes took a hit against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, dropping four of six games to lose ground in the International League East second-half postseason race. They're now three and a half games behind the league-leading IronPigs.

Highlight: A statistical oddity, rather than a true highlight, lit up the Jumbo Shrimp's week. The club scored seven first-inning runs without a hit during Tuesday's 11-5 victory over the IronPigs, exploiting nine walks and a hit batsman for a slow-motion procession around the basepaths. The Jumbo Shrimp's only fair-ball contact in the 13-batter inning was the concluding fly out.

Crustacean sensation: Up to 19 games in a row: That's the hitting streak for Jumbo Shrimp outfielder Jake Mangum, who keeps reaching base from either the top or bottom of the batting order. Mangum began his streak with a 3-for-5 ballgame against Nashville on July 21, and he batted .357 in the Lehigh Valley series with a double, a triple and three RBI. For August, he's batting .378 with an OPS edging above the 1.000 mark.

On deck: The Clippers, affiliated with the Cleveland Guardians, include several pitchers with significant Major League Baseball experience, including Jerad Eickhoff, Amir Garrett and Zach Plesac. Columbus is in eighth place and five games out of first in the International League West, although their run differential is third-best in the division.

Probable pitchers Tuesday: Daniel Castano (3-0, 3.46) of Jacksonville vs. Joey Cantillo (4-2, 4.36) of Columbus.
