Showdown at Baylor headlines Oregon women’s basketball 2023 nonconference schedule
With basketball season just a few months away, the Oregon women’s team has released its nonconference schedule, headlined by a December trip to Waco against perennial power Baylor.
Before that, the Ducks will open up their season with an exhibition game against Southern Oregon at Matthew Knight Arena Oct. 29, and will get the official season started in their opener against Northern Arizona at home Nov. 6.
The Ducks will play seven of their 13 nonconference games at Matthew Knight Arena, including Northern Arizona, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Santa Clara, Idaho, Portland State, Southern and UTSA.
Oregon will take on Baylor Dec. 3 in Waco. The matchup will be the first for Oregon and Baylor since they met in the 2019 Final Four, a 72-67 Baylor victory. The Bears lead the all-time series with the Ducks, 4-0, with a 1-0 record in Waco and a 1-0 record in Eugene.
The Ducks will then head to Utah Tech’s Trailblazer Classic in late December, which will include a matchup against Oklahoma State.
The Ducks’ conference schedule, along with start times and broadcast information, will be announced at a later date.
Oregon finished 20-15 last season and did not make the NCAA Tournament. The Ducks made it to the quarterfinals of the WNIT before losing to Washington.
