Shedeur Sanders ranked third in ESPN’s 2024 NFL draft QB hot board

Colorado has dropped a few games recently and in turn, the hype around quarterback Shedeur Sanders has cooled down after he was labeled as a Heisman Trophy contender earlier this season.

However, his NFL draft status is still worth monitoring, although many expect him to declare for the 2025 draft.

On Wednesday, ESPN NFL draft analyst Jordan Reid revealed his latest 2024 NFL draft QB hot board (subscription required), and Sanders was ranked third behind USC’s Caleb Williams (No. 1) and North Carolina’s Drake Maye.

Reid mentioned that Sanders leading Colorado to a comeback win over Colorado State earlier this season was an “eye-opener for many scouts,” and there is no denying he was clutch in that game.

Unfortunately, the sacks have been frustrating. While offensive line issues are largely to blame, Reid believes that Sanders holds on to the ball for too long in some situations.

All signs point to Sanders waiting for the 2025 NFL draft, but we never know.
