Semi trailer hauling pigs overturns south of Thompson.

Feb. 20—THOMPSON — A semi hauling a load of pigs overturned on Interstate 29 south of Thompson in the early afternoon of Feb. 20.

According to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Brian McNish, 68, was hauling the pigs from Brandon, Manitoba, to Curtiss, Wisconsin, shortly after 2 pm.

created whiteout conditions at that time, which caused McNish to drive into the median. When he attempted to drive out, the load shifted and rolled the trailer, which stayed attached to the still upright semi.

No injuries were reported by the Highway Patrol. Assisting troopers at the scene were the North Dakota Department of Transportation and the Stockman's Association.
