See this incredible one-handed catch between defenders by Florida football's Ricky Pearsall

Ricky Pearsall has set the Gator nation on fire.

Early in the first quarter, the 6-foot-1 senior wide receiver caught a 25 yard catch from QB Graham Mertz between two defenders one-handed. Pearsall palmed the ball with his right hand over the middle of the field. He held on, despite a hard hit from a Charlotte defender that was originally called targeting but was later overturned.

Pearsall totaled six catches for 104 yards as the Gators defeated Charlotte 22-7 to improve to 3-1 and build the program's longest winning streak since 2020.

Postgame, Pearsall said he practiced catches like that.

"That was a pretty good catch, though," Pearsall said. "When the opportunity comes, I've got to come down with it in any way possible."

The receiver admitted that he could've hauled in the pass, which was a little high, with two hands.

"I don't know how to describe it," Pearsall said. "In the moment I just felt like doing it, so I just did. Good thing I came down with it."

The hard hit didn't bother Pearsall. To him, that's just part of being a wide receiver.

"Sometimes you're going to be put in a situation where you've got to take a hit, but you've got to sacrifice your body," Pearsall said.

He added that he thinks he poses a mismatch for any defensive back in the country.

"That's just the mentality that I've got to have as a receiver," Pearsall said.
