Section V boys soccer playoffs: Tournament teams poised to make a run in 2023

The Section V boys soccer season has reached the stage where joy and dejection floods in at the same time.

The postseason, where teams play on with a win and are eliminated with a loss, is here.

There are seven tournaments, some of which kick off October 17.

Here are teams to keep an eye on during the elimination games:

Fairport: Won eight of first 12 games with the bulk of that schedule against the rest of Monroe County Division I. The Red Raiders managed to sweep Penfield and stay in reach of not only the division title, but the sectional tournament's No. 1 seed. Speed and ability to possess the ball are strongest attributes.
