The secret for Ole Miss football QB Jaxson Dart vs. LSU? 'My (pee) was hot'

OXFORD — You'll have to excuse Jaxson Dart's language, but the Ole Miss football starting quarterback woke up the morning of the Rebels' 55-49 victory over LSU feeling fired up.

Or something along those lines, anyway.

"My (pee) was hot," Dart said, choosing another four-letter word that we've replaced with a toned-down synonym.

It's typical for Dart, who turned in arguably the best game of his career in the victory. Normally, his hotel roommate, wide receiver Tre Harris, is the same way.

Not this time.

"He just looked at me, and he's like 'Bro, I feel so peaceful right now," Dart recalled postgame.

Dart asked him exactly what he meant.

"I just know exactly what I'm about to do to them," Harris told him.

Harris, a native of Louisiana and Louisiana Tech transfer who did not receive an LSU offer out of high school, caught eight passes for 153 yards and the winning touchdown with less than a minute to play.

Together, Dart's inner fire and Harris' personal serenity combined to torture the Tigers to the tune of 55 points. LSU had not surrendered that many points since a 55-17 loss to Alabama in 2020.

Dart threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 50 more and an additional TD.

"We saw everything that everybody put out about us after the 'Bama game," Dart said. "We were more disappointed than anybody else was about that game. ... I was just so proud of how resilient our guys are. This is a game that you'll never forget, for sure."
