Seattle Seahawks draft picks: Grades for selections in 2023 NFL Draft
The Seattle Seahawks have two first round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and a chance to build on a playoff appearance last season.
Seattle extended Geno Smith after a Pro Bowl season in 2022, but it's a contract that can be moved on in a year or two.
The Seahawks do need difference makers on defense, and the No. 5 pick could be a spot to draft one.
Here's the Seahawks' picks, selections and grades for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Seattle Seahawks 2023 NFL Draft picks
1st Round, No. 5 overall (from Denver) | Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
Instant grade: A-minus
Analysis: Witherspoon loves to play physical, in-your-face football as a cover corner. If you like a player who plays fast and confident at corner, he's your guy. At this point in the draft, Seattle does well in pairing Witherspoon with Tariq Woolen.
1st Round, No. 20 overall | Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State
Instant grade: A
Analysis: What a perfect fit. Smith-Njigba can help the Seahawks immediately, with Tyler Lockett and D.K Metcalf not needing to carry so much of the offensive load. The different formations and utilizations will be fun to watch. Smith-Njigba isn't the straight-line speed sprinter, but he's a good route runner who wins in 1-on-1.
2nd Round, No. 37 overall (from Denver) | Derick Hall, EDGE, Auburn
Instant grade: C-plus
Analysis: Hall is long and strong, but that's not enough to be a three-down lineman in the NFL. And in the second round, that's what you'd like a pick to eventually become. I'm skeptical.
2nd Round, No. 52 overall | Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA
Instant grade: B-plus
Analysis: Seattle pairs Charbonnet with Kenneth Walker, and both can run in between the tackles and catch the ball.
4th Round, No. 108 overall (From Denver) | Anthony Bradford, OL, LSU
Instant grade: A-minus
4th Round, No. 123 overall | Cameron Young, DL, Mississippi State
Instant grade: C-plus
5th Round, No. 151 overall (from Pittsburgh) | Mike Morris, DE, Michigan
Instant grade: B
5th Round, No. 154 overall | Olu Oluwatimi, C, MIchigan
Instant grade: A
6th Round, No. 198 overall | Jerrick Reed II, DB, New Mexico
Instant grade: B-minus
7th Round, No. 237 overall | Kenny McIntosh, RB, Georgia
Instant grade: B
