Saturday's Top Prep Performers from boys basketball and girls water polo

Highlights from Saturday in high school sports:

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Elias Chin finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for his fifth career triple-double, Trent MacLean had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Garrett Powell scored 13 points, and Luke Koren contributed eight points, eight rebounds and three assists as Thousand Oaks opened its season with a 78-39 victory over St. Bonaventure (2-1) in the Battle by the Beach tournament at St. Bonaventure High.

  • Josh Ullegue poured in 37 points and had seven steals and five rebounds, Luke Ortiz finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, Wakine Molina had eight points and four steals, and Jayden Iyer added five points and five rebounds to lead Buena (4-0) to a 71-40 victory over Sage Hill in the Battle by the Beach tournament at St. Bonaventure High.

  • Richard Miranda finished with 20 points and three rebounds, Isaiah Dillon had 18 points, 11 assists and four steals, Steven Pillado scored 17 points, and Christian Garcia added eight points to lead Pacifica (3-0) to a 72-61 win over Eastside in the Battle by the Beach tournament at St. Bonaventure High.

  • Justin Rener scored 29 points, Ryder Mjoen had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Kyle Hoffer had 17 points and took five charges to lead Simi Valley to a 76-70 win over Lynwood in the Battle by the Beach tournament at St. Bonaventure High.

  • Aeneas Grullon and Monty Koonce each scored 19 points to lead Viewpoint to a 64-44 win over Ventura in the Battle by the Beach tournament at St. Bonaventure High.

  • Jose Valdovinos finished with 33 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals, Jeremiah De Santiago had 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, Sabino Duarte had six points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals, and David Alvarez had six points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals as Santa Paula opened its season with a 66-59 win over Rialto.

GIRLS WATER POLO

  • Calabasas defeated Palisades 11-4 and Marymount 12-8 and lost to Malibu 12-6. Abby Shapiro had 40 blocks and Taylor Credle and Elana Minoofar each scored eight goals on the day for the Coyotes.
