The MTV series “Siesta Key,” which has been mostly filmed in the Sarasota area over the past five years, will be back on the air Oct. 27 with a new name and new location.

“Siesta Key: Miami Moves” continues to follow some of the reality show’s familiar characters as they chart new lives in the Miami area, the network announced.

The series began in 2017 by following a group of friends who grew up together in Sarasota and on Siesta Key, tracking the ups and downs of their friendships, relationships and careers at fancy homes, on the job, in night clubs, at parties and, prominently, on Siesta Beach.

Many of the original cast will be back as they “grow up and greet their adult lives, and the pressures that come with it” in a new city, MTV said in a release.

The show’s focus for most of its run as been on Juliette Porter, who has navigated several relationships, tried a variety of jobs and launched a swimsuit line. Now split from her wealthy boyfriend Sam Logan she is preparing to expand her swimwear line JMP the Label as she continues a relationship with Clark Drum  that faces some strain because of the pressures of her new work.

Chloe Trautman Long and her husband Chris Long are talking about children and buying a home as she works to expand her own business, Emerald Ray Botanicals. Her close friend Amanda Miller is out of college and is “celebrating her last summer before real adulthood,” the network says. Brandon Gomes is juggling his music career while helping to raise his son, Quincy.

Logan moves into a luxury mansion in Miami and takes in his best friend, Jordana Barnes as a roommate, causing the rest of the group to question the actual nature of their relationship. Barnes’ friend Cara Geswelli decides to spend the summer with Barnes, who is recruited by the newly married Madisson Hausburg to provide illustrations for a children’s book she is creating in honor of the son she lost in a stillbirth last season. Hausburg had been living in Los Angeles to be closer to her husband, Ish Soto.

Among the long-time cast members not returning are personal trainer Garrett Miller and clothing designer Kelsey Owens. Miller revealed earlier this year that he was not asked to return.

In August, Owens posted on Instagram that she “was informed that I will be cut moving forward” just as she was entering a scene being filmed at a strip club. “It’s mind blowing & truly disgusting that after working on a show since I was 19 years old where I’ve shared things about my personal life I wasn’t always comfortable with, revolved my whole life around, and put so much effort into could come to an end in such a disrespectful manner and so abrupt.”

The show premieres on MTV at 8 p.m. Oct. 27.
