Saints cutting Sproles
The New Orleans Saints plan to cut veteran all-purpose running back Darren Sproles, according to reports.
"Thank you New Orleans for your support over the past 3 years!" Sproles wrote on Twitter. "I will always be forever grateful. #WhoDat"
Sproles was reportedly on the trading block.
Sproles' release would create $3.5 million in salary-cap space.
Sproles signed a four-year, $14 million contract in 2011.
He generated 5,546 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns in three seasons in New Orleans.
