Sabrina Ionescu challenges Steph Curry after record-breaking performance in WNBA 3-point contest

On Friday night in Las Vegas, New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu took over. The former Oregon Duck star torched the WNBA’s 3-point contest with a record-breaking performance in the final round of the competition. Ionescu buried 20 consecutive triples on her way to the championship with a 37-point round.

Ionescu’s 37 points not only shattered the WNBA record but the NBA record as well. Steph Curry and Tyrese Haliburton share the record in the NBA 3-point shooting contest with 31 points.

Following her performance in the 3-point contest, Curry took to Twitter with a shoutout for Ionescu.

After Ionescu was crowned the new 3-point shooting champ, she hit Twitter with a challenge for the NBA’s former two-time Most Valuable Player. Ionescu jokingly took to Twitter to issue a challenge to a shootout with Curry.

There’s no doubt seeing the two sharpshooters battle it out on the 3-point contest stage would be a must-watch.
