Rutgers women’s basketball looks to continue February success

Following a Big Ten win earlier this week, Rutgers women’s basketball is be back in action on Saturday. Rutgers will welcome Wisconsin to Jersey Mike’s Arena for the annual Play4Kay game.

Entering this matchup, Rutgers has been playing better of late and posted a 2-2 record in February. In that span, they have beaten Nebraska and Minnesota. Rutgers has scored at least 70 points in both of their wins this month.

However, they will have their hands full with a talented Wisconsin team. The Badgers have posted an 11-12 record through 23 games and won four Big Ten games. During that stretch, they have been led by Serah Williams. The Brooklyn native is averaging 18.1 points per game.

As the Badgers look to get back in the win column, they will be tasked with stopping Mya Petticord. In Rutgers win over Minnesota earlier this week, the talented guard scored a season-high 25 points. She was also deadly from beyond the arc, making four three-pointers.

While this season has not gone as planned for Rutgers, they have looked a lot better of late. After entering the month with zero conference wins, they have quickly turned things. Against a Wisconsin team that has had a rollercoaster season, they have a good opportunity to prove that their recent success is no fluke.

Throughout the game, Rutgers will celebrate cancer survivors and warriors. There will also be a special ceremony at halftime.
