Roundup: Lakewood girls bowling slides past Granville in Licking County League showdown

Vica Pletcher rolled a high game of 236 at Park Lanes on Thursday, lifting the Lakewood girls bowling team to a victory against Granville, 1,888-1,791, in a battle of unbeaten teams in Licking County League play.

Pletcher recorded a 369 series for the Lancers. Amy Smith added games of 183 and 173, Payton Mellring a high game of 164 and Nevaeh Wall a high game of 154.

Kamryn Dixon led the Blue Aces with a high game of 200 and series of 357. Sydney Cottrill added a high game of 183, Emily Travis a 173 and Jillian Brownfield a 151.

In the boys match, Ethan Gray rolled a high game of 195 and a series of 341 for Granville, which edged Lakewood 1,740-1,694.

Augustus Wilson and Anders Helling each added a high game of 158 and Brogan Burgett 155 for the Blue Aces.

Jeremiah Lowdermilk led the Lancers with a high game of 179 and series of 326, and Logan Streets followed right behind with a 177 and 323. Sam Zwayer added a high game of 152.

Northridge boys nip Heath

Logan Hupp’s games of 195 and 203 at Park Lanes helped Northridge hand LCL champion Heath its first league loss, 2,096-2,065.

Brody White added games of 198 and 177, Jamie Odrumsky a high game of 182 and Nick Patton games of 178 and 169 for the Vikings.

Payton Love’s 183 and 204 and Tyler Hudson’s 200 and 182 led the Bulldogs. Josh Dover added a high game of 200.

In the girls match, Kat Boyd rolled games of 204 and 166 in a victory for Heath, 1,539-1,121, which included just one Baker game.

Kirsten Cheek and Kayleigh Goings added a high game of 153 apiece for the Bulldogs.

Reece Crow rolled a high game of 152 and Kaylie McCarthy a 133 for the Vikings.

HOCKEY

Newark wins

Max Vanoy recorded a hat trick for the Newark Generals in a 14-1 victory against the visiting Northeast Storm in an Ohio Scholastic Hockey League game.

Also scoring for Newark were Jake Johnson, Derek Beneze, Woody Struthers, Max Morrow, Gavin Kessler, Trevor Enders, Troy Johnston, Daniel Layne, Mason Williams, Blake Sauberzweig and Nick Allen.

Aaron Johnson made 21 saves for the Generals, who host Linsly (W.Va.) at 6 p.m. Sunday before playing in the CBJ Cup next week.

BOWLING

Newark falls at Teays

Newark had four winners on Wednesday during a 57-23 loss at Teays Valley.

Kaleb Clark at 150 pounds, Eli Justice 157 and Gavin Jenkins 190 each won by pin. James Daugherty at 165 won by technical fall.
