Led by Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood, the young Rockets (1-7) enter Saturday’s game with six straight losses. However, they could be more dangerous than their lowly record looks, since the competition versus probable playoff teams has been steep — and they led well into the second half in a pair of competitive road losses to the Suns and Lakers over their previous two outings.
As usual, the Nuggets (4-4) are led by reigning MVP Nikola Jokic in the middle and rising star Michael Porter Jr. on the wing. It’s a rare Saturday afternoon tip, which should enable the Rockets to reach the second stop of their back-to-back journey (Golden State) in enough time to get a full night’s rest prior to Sunday’s late game.

For the Nuggets, Vlatko Cančar is out with a left hip strain, while star guard Jamal Murray is out due to the left knee ACL injury he suffered late last season. Those are the only two injuries on Denver’s injury report.
