Rocket Sanders injury status out for Arkansas football in Week 3 against BYU

Arkansas football will be without running back Raheim Sanders for a second-straight week.

Sam Pittman spoke with the media Monday coming off the Razorbacks' 28-6 win over Kent State, confirming that Sanders will miss Saturday's game against BYU due to an ongoing knee injury. Sanders suffered the injury during Arkansas' Week 1 win against Western Carolina. His availability against LSU in Week 4 is still uncertain.

AJ Green handled most of the carries in Sanders' absence, logging 15 rushes for 82 yards. Rashod Dubinion and Dominique Johnson combined for 42 yards on 17 carries.

As a team, Arkansas rushed for 3.8 yards a carry and continues to struggle on the ground. KJ Jefferson should have a bigger role in the run game as the calendar continues to turn toward SEC football on the horizon.

Pittman also said he expects Dwight McGlothern to be back for the next game after playing one snap against Kent State. Kee'yon Stewart replaced McGlothern alongside Jaheim Singletary as the cornerbacks who logged the most snaps.

In the season-opener, McGlothern recorded an interception and one tackle while Stewart was serving a one-game suspension.
