Litchfield's Tate Dobrinich wins the SJ-R's athlete of the week poll

Litchfield's Tate Dobrinich is The State Journal-Register's athlete of the week.

He won with 6,668 votes (50%) after his teammate, A.J. Sypherd, won the poll for a second time last week. Kincaid South Fork's Levi Davis was second with 5,662 (42%).

The senior nabbed two interceptions and shined offensively with two catches for 57 yards and a score in a 34-6 victory over Pawnee at Jack Hanlon Field on Saturday.

Tate Dobrinich, Litchfield, football

The Purple Panthers' senior quarterback converted on 11 of his 12 passes in the first half, including all three Litchfield touchdowns, for 154 yards in a 20-15 South Central Conference win over Pana. He finished with 178 yards passing.

Tra'Von Hall, Southeast, football

The junior quarterback opened with a 67-yard touchdown pass to David McGehee and ended 11 of 15 for 241 yards passing and five TDs in a 48-8 Central State Eight Conference victory over Lanphier at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Sydney McAfee, Pleasant Plains, volleyball

The senior hitter became the school's all-time career kills leader after posting eight in a 25-15, 25-11 Sangamo Conference win over New Berlin on Tuesday. She also had two blocks and three digs in the win. She led the Cardinals with eight kills and five digs in a 25-17, 25-13 league win over Riverton on Thursday.

Reaghan McGlauchlen, Pana, volleyball

The freshman racked up 12 kills in a 25-20, 25-23 South Central Conference victory over North Mac on Tuesday. She also had 13 kills in a 25-13, 25-10 league victory at Vandalia on Thursday.

Nolan Mrozowski, Rochester, football

The senior running back piled up five touchdowns in a 63-21 Central State Eight Conference rout against Chatham Glenwood, giving him 15 TDs this season. The Class 4A top-ranked Rockets claimed the sole lead of the CS8 ahead of the regular season finale against Sacred Heart-Griffin.

Alexis Neumann, Chatham Glenwood, volleyball

The freshman hitter chalked up seven kills and seven blocks in a 25-11, 25-16 Central State Eight Conference victory over Southeast at Herb Scheffler Gymnasium on Tuesday. It was the Titans' 10th straight win.
