Rickie Fowler survives three-way playoff for dramatic win at 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic

After inclement weather forced what was supposed to be an early finish at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic, three players found themselves tied for the lead with as many holes to play, setting up for a thrilling finish in the Motor City.

In fact, 72 holes weren’t enough as Collin Morikawa, Adam Hadwin and Rickie Fowler all finished at 24 under to force the second playoff in the Rocket Mortgage Classic’s five year history. In the end it was Fowler who came out on top after just one extra hole with birdie. The win is the sixth of his Tour career and first since the 2019 WM Phoenix Open.

Next week the Tour heads to TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, before a two-week stint abroad for the Genesis Scottish Open (July 13-16) and Open Championship (July 20-23).
