Wednesday, April 24

Madison 3, Mount Vernon 2

The Madison Rams picked up a huge 3-2 Ohio Cardinal Conference win over Mount Vernon on Wednesday to remain in the hunt for a league championship.

Ashley Markley led the way with two hits while Emily Nolan, Kyleigh Reiter, Allie Shrader, Libby Bekeleski and Emma Stankovich had one hit apiece. Markley had two RBIs while Reiter had one. They both clubbed home runs in the win.

Layla Azmoun was sensational again in the circle allowing two runs on four hits with five strikeouts in seven innings of work.

The Rams improve to 10-5 and host Mount Vernon on Thursday.

Ontario 22, Marion Harding 2 F/5

The Ontario Warriors took home a dominant 22-2 win over Marion Harding on Wednesday night in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Trista Jewell led the way with four hits while Autumn Taylor and Piper Studer had three apiece, Brinlee Kreger and Kennedy Weiler had two apiece and Eden Howard, Morgan Pearson, Brylie Ireland and Gracie Thurber had one apiece. Pearson had four RBIs while Jewell had three, Kreger, Studer and Weiler had two apiece and Taylor had one. Weiler, Pearson, Studer and Jewell all clubbed home runs in the victory.

The Warriors improve to 8-9 on the year and travel to Pleasant on Friday.

Clear Fork 9, Shelby 3

Crestview 3, Mapleton 2

St. Paul 8, Plymouth 3

The Plymouth Big Red took a tough 8-3 Firelands Conference loss to St. Paul on Wednesday.

Emily Irven and Lily Cook led the way with two hits while Jaylin Branham, Kendyll Tolbert, Kristi Yeager, Karsyn Adkins and Taylor Dean had one hit apiece. Irven had two RBIs while Adkins had one.

The Big Red falls to 1-12 on the season.

Tuesday, April 23

Lucas 12, Mansfield Christian 5

The Lucas Cubs took the Mid-Buckeye Conference sweep over Mansfield Christian with a 12-5 victory on Tuesday night.

Alyssa Shay and Trinity Stickney had two hits apiece while Shay had a double and Maddie Boyer had a triple for the Cubs.

Noel Cline and Bailee Nelson had two hits apiece for the Flames as both collected doubles.

The Cubs improve to 6-5 on the year and host East Knox on Thursday while Mansfield Christian is now 4-6.

Marion Harding 8, Ontario 7

The Ontario Warriors took a tough 8-7 loss to Marion Harding on Tuesday evening in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Brinlee Kreger, Trista Jewell, Eden Howard, Olivia Kreger and Maddie Mullins all had one hit apiece. Howard had three RBIs while Jewell, Olivia Kreger, Morgan Pearson and Piper Studer had one apiece.

The Warriors fall to 7-9 on the year and host Harding on Wednesday.

Monday, April 22

Lexington 5, Mount Vernon 4

The Lexington Lady Lex picked up an absolutely massive Ohio Cardinal Conference win over Mount Vernon on Tuesday, 5-4, to take sole possession of first place in the league standings.

Kylie Galownia led Lex with three hits while Makaree Chapman added two and Jillian Morr, Kaylie Eichorn, Rylie McGuire and Madyson Taylor had one hit apiece. Kylie Thornton and McGuire had two RBIs apiece while Chapman had one.

Chapman earned the win in the circle allowing four runs on 11 hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Lady Lex improves to 15-0 and hosts Norwalk on Thursday.

Madison 10, Tiffin Columbian 0 F/5

The Madison Rams earned a solid nonconference victory over Tiffin Columbian on Monday night, 10-0.

Izzy Wamsley and Kendyll Kershner led the way with three hits while Ashley Markley and Allie Shrader had two hits apiece and Emily Nolan and Emma Stankovich had one hit apiece. Markley had three RBIs while Nolan, Shrader, Libby Bekeleski and Stankovich had one apiece.

Layla Azmoun continued her dominance in the circle allowing just two hits in four innings with 11 strikeouts. Campbell Kiser worked the fifth inning with two strikeouts.

The Rams improve to 9-5 on the year and host Mount Vernon on Tuesday.

Clear Fork 11, Northwestern 0 F/5

The Clear Fork Colts took an 11-0 nonconference victory over Northwestern on Monday night.

Mel Blubaugh, Katrina Rogers and Macy Ousley had two hits apiece for the Colts while Addison Schlosser, Jada Brokaw, Mya Perry, Miley Shafer and Andrea Swainhart had one hit apiece. Rogers collected five RBIs while Blubaugh, Schlosser, Ousley and Shafer had one apiece.

Shafer earned the win in the circle allowing just two hits with three strikeouts in four innings. Renee Anders worked the final inning allowing two hits.

Clear Fork improves to 10-4 and travels to Shelby on Tuesday.

Shelby 18, Clyde 7 F/5

The Shelby Whippets saw the offense explode with an 18-7 win over Clyde in nonconference action Monday night.

Mallary Gundrum and Braylee Sturts led the way with four hits apiece while Natalie Kennard and Maggie Bogner had three apiece, Kendal Parsons, Karlie Walp and Kennedy Studer had two hits apiece and Kennedy Snyder had one. Gundrum collected six RBIs while Parsons, Sturts and Bogner had two apiece and Walp, Studer, Katie Taylor and Kennard had one apiece. Gundrum clubbed two home runs while Sturts and Parsons had one apiece.

Lexi Booker took the win in the circle allowing seven runs, just two were earned, on eight hits with one strikeout.

The Whippets improve to 11-5 and host Clear Fork on Tuesday.

Ontario 11, Galion 4

The Ontario Warriors earned an impressive 11-4 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Galion on Monday night.

Olivia Kreger had a huge day at the dish with four hits while Autumn Taylor had three, Morgan Pearson and Piper Studer had two apiece and Trista Jewell, Eden Howard, Brylie Ireland and Maddie Mullins had one apiece. Pearson had three RBIs while Kreger and Taylor had two apiece and Jewell and Mullins had one apiece. Kreger and Pearson both slugged home runs in the win.

Taylor took the win in the circle allowing four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts.

The Warriors improve to 7-8 and travel to Marion Harding on Tuesday.

Lucas 14, Mansfield Christian 4 F/5

The Lucas Cubs took a Mid-Buckeye Conference victory over Mansfield Christian 14-4 on Monday night.

Maddie Boyer, Mya Midkiff and Alyssa Shay all had two hits apiece for the Cubs while Trinity Stickney, Destiny Foss, Keara Ammons and Zoey Baker had one hit apiece. Shay had four RBIs while Boyer, Ammons and Baker had two apiece.

Boyer took the win in the circle allowing four unearned runs on five hits with five strikeouts in five innings of work.

The Cubs improve to 5-5 on the year and travel to Mansfield Christian on Tuesday.

Maddi Hockman had two hits for the Flames while Kaci Pollard had a double.

The Flames fall to 4-5 and host Lucas on Tuesday.

Monroeville 14, Plymouth 1 F/6

The Plymouth Big Red took a tough 14-1 loss to Monroeville in Firelands Conference play on Monday night.

Monroeville broke open a close game with nine runs in the sixth to put it out of reach. Jaylin Branham led the Big Red with two hits while Kristi Yeager, Kendyll Tolbert, Madison Montgomery and Cailynn Bailey had one hit apiece. Branham had the lone RBI for the Big Red.

Plymouth falls to 1-12 on the season.

Saturday, April 20

Lexington 10, Bellevue 0 F/6

The Lexington Lady Lex earned an impressive 10-0 win over Bellevue on Saturday in nonconference action.

Jillian Morr and Rylie McGuire led the way with three hits apiece while Kylie Galownia and Kaylie Eichorn had two apiece and Quinn Patrick, Makaree Chapman and Madyson Taylor had one apiece. McGuire collected three RBIs while Morr and Eichorn had two apiece and Kaylie Thornton had one.

Chapman earned the win in the circle allowing just two hits with 11 strikeouts in five innings of work.

Lexington is now 14-0 and travels to Mount Vernon on Monday in a huge OCC contest.

Ontario 14, Hubbard 2 F/5

The Ontario Warriors cruised to a 14-2 win over Hubbard in the final game of the Mid-Ohio Spring Classic on Saturday.

Trista Jewell and Bailey DelGreco led the way with three hits apiece for the Warriors while Olivia Kreger, Autumn Taylor and Piper Studer had two hits apiece and Brinlee Kreger, Morgan Pearson and Maddie Mullins had one apiece. DelGreco collected four RBIs while Olivia Kreger and Studer had two apiece and Jewell, Pearson and Brylie Ireland had one apiece.

Taylor earned the win in the circle allowing two unearned runs on four hits with nine strikeouts in five innings of work.

The Warriors improve to 6-8 and travel to Galion on Monday.

Lucas 7, Colonel Crawford 4

The Lucas Cubs picked up an impressive nonconference win over Colonel Crawford on Saturday, 7-4.

Maddie Boyer led the Cubs with two hist while Mya Midkiff, Alyssa Shay, Trinity Stickney, Destiny Foss, Keara Ammons, Zoey Baker and Kailyn Caugherty had one apiece. Boyer, Stickney, Foss and Ammons had one RBI apiece.

Boyer picked up the win in the circle allowing four runs on 14 hits with five strikeouts in seven innings of work.

The Cubs improve to 4-5 and host Mansfield Christian on Monday.

Crestview 11, Galion 1

The Crestview Cougars cruised to an 11-1 nonconference win over Galion on Saturday in the first game of a nonconference doubleheader.

Carlee Crider led the way with three hits while Maddie Grant, Sophie Durbin, Chesnie Patton and Allison Volz had two apiece and Makena Tacket, Kalee Hamman and Jillian Weaver had one apiece. Crider, Grant and Weaver had two RBIs apiece while Volz had one.

Patton earned the win in the circle allowing one unearned run on one hit with 13 strikeouts.

Galion 4, Crestview 2

The Cougars dropped Game 2 of the doubleheader 4-2.

No stats were entered for this game.

Mohawk 10, Shelby 9

The Shelby Whippets took a tough loss to Mohawk on Saturday 10-9 in walkoff fashion in nonconference play.

Kendal Parsons, Kennedy Studer and Kelsey Snyder led the way with two hits apiece while Karlie Walp, Mallary Gundrum, Natalie Kennard and Katie Taylor had one hit apiece. Parsons collected two RBIs while Walp, Studer, Taylor and Snyder had one RBI apiece. Parsons slugged a home run in the loss.

Shelby falls to 10-5 on the year and hosts Clyde on Monday.

Friday, April 19

Madison 7, Clear Fork 5

The Madison Rams picked up a huge 7-5 victory over Clear Fork on Friday night in nonconference action.

Izzy Wamsley, Kyleigh Reiter, Campbell Kiser, Allie Shrader and Libby Bekeleski had two hits apiece for the Rams while Emily Nolan, Ashley Markley, Emma Stankovich and Jillian Conard had one hit apiece. Reiter and Markley had two RBIs apiece while Nolan, Wamsley and Shrader had one apiece. Markley and Reiter had one home run apiece in the victory.

Layla Azmoun was dominant in the circle again allowing five runs, just three earned, on six hits with eight strikeouts.

Mel Blubaugh, Jada Brokaw, Mya Perry, Addison Schlosser, Renee Anders and Mily Shafer had one hit apiece for the Colts. Blubaugh collected two RBIs while Macy Ousley, Schlosser and Shafer had one RBI apiece.

The Rams improve to 8-5 on the year and host Columbian on Monday while Clear Fork falls to 9-4 and hosts Northwestern on Monday.

Crestview 8, New London 0

The Crestview Cougars earned a massive sweep over New London on Friday winning 8-0 to take both games of the Firelands Conference series.

Sophie Durbin led the way with two hits, two steals and two runs scored while PJ Endicott continued to tear the cover off of the ball with three hits, a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Jillian Weaver had one hits and two RBIs while Carlee Crider, Maddie Grant and Makensie Tucer had one hit apiece.

Kalee Hamman pitched a complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts with seven hits allowed.

Crestview is now 9-4 and travels to Galion on Saturday.

Marlington 9, Ontario 2

The Ontario Warriors took a tough 9-2 loss to Marlington in the first game of the Mid-Ohio Spring Classic at Marshall Park on Friday.

Brinlee Kreger and Autumn Taylor led the way with two hits apiece while Trista Jewell, Eden Howard, Brylie Ireland and Maddie Mullins had one hit apiece for the Warriors. Jewell and Taylor had one RBI apiece in the loss.

Ontario 10, Loudonville 6

The Warriors rebounded with a solid 10-6 win over Loudonville in their second game of the Mid-Ohio Spring Classic on Friday night.

Trista Jewell led the way with three hits while Olivia Kreger had two, Brinlee Kreger, Eden Howard, Morgan Pearson, Brylie Ireland, Maddie Mullins, Kennedy Weiler and Piper Studer had one hit apiece for the Warriors. Howard collected three RBIs while Jewell had two and Pearson, Ireland and Mullins had one apiece. Howard smashed a home run in the victory.

Howard took the win in the circle allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts in four innings of work while Taylor worked three innings allowing four runs, one earned, on three hits with six strikeouts.

The Warriors are now 5-8 and will play Hubbard on Saturday in the Mid-Ohio Spring Classic.

Mapleton 14, Plymouth 6

The Plymouth Big Red dropped a tough Firelands Conference game to Mapleton on Friday, 14-6.

Kristi Yeager, Jaylin Branham, Madison Montgomery and Chelsea Cunningham had two hits apiece while Kendyll Tolbert, Cailynn Bailey and Lily Cook had one hit apiece. Tolbert had two RBIs while Branham and Montgomery had one apiece.

The Big Red falls to 1-11 on the season.

Thursday, April 18

Madison 3, Huron 1

The Madison Rams continued their winning ways with a big 3-1 victory over Huron in nonconference action.

Emily Nolan and Emma Stankovich led the way with two hits apiece while Kyleigh Reiter, Campbell Kiser and Libby Bekeleski had one hit apiece. Reiter and Kendyll Kershner had one RBI apiece in the win.

Layla Azmoun continued her dominance in the circle allowing just one run on six hits with 10 strikeouts.

The Rams improve to 7-5 and travel to Clear Fork on Friday.

Lexington 2, Ashland 0

The Lexington Lady Lex pulled off a close victory over Ashland on Thursday winning 2-0 in Ohio Cardinal Conference play.

Kylie Galownia and Kyra Boyd collected two hits apiece while Kylie Thornton and Rylie McGuire had one hit apiece. Galownia had two RBIs in the victory.

Makaree Chapman was sensational in the circle again with a two-hit, complete-game shutout with 14 strikeouts.

Lady Lex is now 13-0 on the season and travels to Bellevue on Saturday for a doubleheader.

Clear Fork 18, Marion Harding 7 F/8

The Clear Fork Colts picked up a convincing win over Marion Harding on Thursday in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Mel Blubaugh led the way with three hits while Katirina Rogers, Macy Ousley, Mya Perry and Addison Schlosser had two hits apiece while Ava Carr and Miley Shafer had one hit apiece. Blubaugh collected five RBIs while Rogers, Ousley and Perry had two apiece and Jada Brokaw and Carr had one apiece. Blubaugh clubbed a home run in the win.

The Colts improve to 9-3 and host Madison on Friday.

Shelby 8, River Valley 5

The Shelby Whippets picked up a solid 8-5 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victory over River Valley on Thursday.

Chesnie Patton earned the win with a complete-game shutout allowing five hits with 13 strikeouts.

The Cougars are now 8-4 and take on New London on Friday.

Delaware Christian 16, Mansfield Christian 6 F/6

The Mansfield Christian Flames took a tough 16-6 loss to Delaware Christian on Thursday in nonconference action.

Abby Heininger, Kaci Pollard, Chelsea Ward and Maddi Hockman all had two or more hits for the Flames.

Mansfield Christian is now 4-4 on the season.

Mapleton 20, Plymouth 0 F/5

The Plymouth Big Red took a tough 20-0 loss to Mapleton on Thursday in Firelands Conference play.

Kristi Yeager led the Big Red with two hits while Kendyll Tolbert, Cailynn Bailey and Autumn Roberts had one hit apiece.

Plymouth falls to 1-11 on the season.

Tuesday, April 16

Lexington 11, Ashland 0 F/5

The Lexington Lady Lex continued to cruise through the first half of the season with an 11-0 Ohio Cardinal Conference win over Ashland on Tuesday night.

Kaylie Eichorn and Makaree Chapman led the way offensively with two hits apiece while Jillian Morr, Quinn Patrick and Kylie Galownia had one hit apiece. Eichorn collected four RBIs while Galownia had two and Chapman had one.

Chapman was lights out again in the circle firing a five-inning no-hitter against her former team with nine strikeouts and three walks.

Lady Lex improves to 12-0 and hosts Ashland on Wednesday.

Clear Fork 22, Marion Harding 5 F/5

The Clear Fork Colts picked up an impressive 22-5 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Marion Harding on Tuesday night.

Mel Blubaugh led the way with four hits while Katrina Rogers, Macy Ousley and Renee Anders had two hits apiece and Jada Brokaw, Mya Perry, Miley Shafer and Andrea Swainhart had one hit apiece. Blubaugh collected four RBIs while Rogers, Ousley and Anders had three apiece, Perry had two and Brokaw, Hailly Thrush and Shafer had one apiece. Rogers clubbed her eighth home run of the season in the win.

The Colts improve to 8-3 and travel to Marion Harding on Tuesday.

Shelby 8, River Valley 1

The Shelby Whippets ended a three-game losing streak in a big way with a nice 8-1 win over River Valley on Tuesday in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Mallary Gundrum led the way with three hits while Kendal Parsons and Karlie Walp had two hits apiece and Natalie Kennard and Maggie Bogner had one hit apiece. Gundrum collected two RBIs while Kennard and Kennedy Studer had one apiece.

Lexi Booker earned the win in the circle allowing one run on seven hits with five strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Shelby improves to 9-4 and hosts River Valley on Wednesday.

Mansfield Christian 20, Crestline 15

The Mansfield Christian Flames won a high-scoring affair over Crestline on Tuesday winning 20-15 in Mid-Buckeye Conference action.

Bailee Nelson led the Flames with four hits while Talia Byroom had three and Jael Sterken, Noel Cline and Abby Heininger had two apiece. Nelson collected four RBIs while Byrom had three and Heininger and Chelsea Ward had two apiece.

The Flames improve to 4-3 and host Delaware Christian on Thursday.

Lucas 7, Buckeye Central 3

Monroeville 4, Crestview 3

The Crestview Cougars were swept by Monroeville in Firelands Conference play with a 4-3 loss on Tuesday night.

Sophie Durbin led the way with two hits, two steals and an RBI while PJ Endicott had one hit and one steal, Kaylee Hammon had one hit and one run scored, Allison Volz collected two hits and an RBI, Carlee Crider had two hits and an RBI and Jillian Weaver rounded out the offense with a double.

Hammon took the loss in the circle allowing four runs, just two earned, on seven hits with four strikeouts.

The Cougars are now 7-4 and host New London on Thursday.

Pleasant 10, Ontario 9

The Ontario Warriors dropped a close one with Pleasant on Tuesday falling 10-9 in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action.

The Madison Rams earned a very impressive nonconference win over Elyria Catholic on Monday, 3-1.

Libby Bekeleski led the Rams with three hits while Emily Nolan had two and Izzy Wamsley, Kyleigh Reiter and Allie Shrader had one hit apiece. Reiter, Emma Stankovich and Bekeleski had one RBI apiece in the win.

Layla Azmoun was in prime form to earn the win in the circle. She allowed just one unearned run on two hits with 16 strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Madison improves to 6-5 on the year and travels to Fredericktown on Wednesday.

Lexington 7, Shelby 1

Mansfield Christian 7, Crestline 6

The Mansfield Christian Flames picked up an impressive 7-6 win over Crestline in Mid-Buckeye Conference action Monday night.

The Flames broke a 6-6 tie in the top of the seventh and held on for the key victory. Kaci Pollard and Bailee Nelson had two hits apiece while adding doubles. Nelson earned the win in the circle allowing six runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work.

The Flames are now 3-3 and travel to Crestline on Tuesday.

Clear Fork 7, Ontario 0

The Clear Fork Colts cruised to an impressive 7-0 win over Ontario on Monday night in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Mel Blubaugh led the way with three hits while Mya Perry had two and Macy Ousley, Miley Shafer and Addy Schlosser had one apiece. Perry collected three RBIs while Ousley had two and Shafer had one.

The Crestview Cougars took a tough Firelands Conference loss to Monroeville on Monday, 4-3.

PJ Endicott continued to swing a hot bat for the Cougars with a home run while Chesnie Patton had a hit, Allison Volz had a hit and an RBI, Carlee Crider had a hit and Kalee Hamman scored a run.

Patton took the loss in the circle despite pitching very well allowing three unearned runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts.

The Cougars fall to 7-3 and travel to Monroeville on Tuesday.

New London 7, Plymouth 0

The Plymouth Big Red took a tough 7-0 loss to New London on Monday night in Firelands Conference play.

Emily Irven and Cailynn Bailey had one hit apiece for the Big Red.

Plymouth falls to 1-8 and hosts New London on Tuesday.

The Lucas Cubs took a tough nonconference loss to Marion Harding on Monday falling 10-1.

Mya Midkiff led the Cubs with two hits while Maddie Boyer, Kailyn Caugherty and Trinity Stickney had one hit apiece. Stickney had the lone RBI.

Lucas falls to 1-5 and travel to Buckeye Central on Tuesday.

Saturday, April 13

The Lexington Lady Lex earned a convincing victory in the marquee game of the MVD Invitational on Saturday with a 15-3 win over the Shelby Whippets.

Kylie Galownia led Lex with four hits while Kaylie Eichorn had three, Madyson Taylor and Rylie McGuire had two apiece and Kylie Thornton and Kyra Boyd had two apiece. Eichorn collected five RBIs while McGuire had three and Makaree Chapman, Thornton and Taylor had two apiece. Eichorn had a home run in the victory.

Chapman earned the win in the circle allowing three runs, just two earned, on five hits with six strikeouts in five innings of work.

Kendal Parsons, Mallary Gundrum, Lexi Booker, Katie Taylor and Lexi Mohn had one hit apiece for the Whippets. Booker and Taylor had one RBI apiece.

Lexington improved to 9-0 on the season while Shelby fell to 8-2.

Lexington wrapped up its day at the MVD Invite with an 11-9 victory over Clear Fork to remain undefeated on the season.

Jillian Morr led the way for Lex with three hits while Kylie Galownia, Makaree Chapman and Kaylie Eichorn had two hits apiece and Kylie Thornton, Madyson Taylor and Rylie McGuire had one apiece. Mel Blubaugh and Jada Brokaw led the Colts with three hits apiece while Katrina Rogers and Hailly Thrush had two hits apiece and Macy Ousley, Mya Perry, Renee Anders and Miley Shafer had one hit apiece. The Colts bounced back with a nice 12-0 win over Lucas in their second game of the MVD tournament.

Rogers collected four RBIs while Anders had three and Brokaw, Perry and Schlosser had one apiece. Rogers and Anders slugged home runs in the victory.

Kyleigh Reiter led the way with four hits while Emily Nolan, Izzy Wamsley, Ashley Markley, Campbell Kiser and Emma Stankovich had two hits apiece and Sophie Lowe and Kendyll Kershner had one hit apiece. Wamsley, Reiter, Markley and Stankovich had two hits apiece while Nolan, Kiser, Lowe and Kershner had one RBI apiece.

Layla Azmoun earned the win in the circle with a dominating performance allowing one unearned run on four hits with 11 strikeouts.

The Lucas Cubs earned an impressive 13-10 win over the Plymouth Big Red on Saturday at the MVD Invitational.

Kailyn Caugherty led the Cubs with four hits while Maddie Boyer, Trinity Stickney and Zoey Baker had three hits apiece, Destiny Foss, Izzy Iceman and Alyssa Shay had two apiece and Keara Ammons and Olyvia Culler had one hit apiece. The Ontario Warriors cruised to an 11-1 nonconference win over Perkins on Saturday.

Eden Howard, Bailey DelGreco, Kennedy Weiler and Brinlee Kreger had two hits apiece while Trista Jewell, Olivia Kreger and Brylie Ireland had one hit apiece. Howard had five RBIs while Brinlee Kreger had three and Olivia Kreger and Ireland had one apiece. Howard crushed two home runs in the victory.

Autumn Taylor picked up the win in the circle allowing one run on two hits with six strikeouts in four innings of work while Howard finished off the win allowing just two hits with four strikeouts in two innings.

The Warriors improve to 4-5 on the season and host Clear Fork on Monday.

The Madison Rams took a hard-fought 5-3 loss to Eastwood on Saturday in nonconference action.

Campbell Kiser had three hits for the Rams while Izzy Wamsley had two and Kyleigh Reiter had one. Kiser had two RBIs.

Kiser took the loss in the circle despite pitching well enough to win five runs, just one was earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings of work.

The Rams are now 5-5 and head to Huron on Thursday.

The Plymouth Big Red dropped their second game of the MVD Invite to Northwestern 19-9 on Saturday in nonconference action.

Emily Irven had a nice day at the plate with four hits while Kristi Yeager had two hits and Cailynn Bailey and Lily Cook had one hit apiece. Irven and Yeager had three RBIs while Bailey and Taylor Dean had one RBI apiece.

Madison 9, West Holmes 6

The Madison Rams got some revenge on Wednesday night with a 9-6 victory over West Holmes to split the Ohio Cardinal Conference series.

The Rams used five runs in the bottom of the sixth to go from down 6-4 to in the lead for good. Izzy Wamsley and Campbell Kiser led the way with two hits apiece while Emily Nolan, Kyleigh Reiter, Ashley Markely, Allie Shrader and Libby Bekeleski had one hit apiece. Nolan collected two RBIs while Reiter, Markley, Kiser and Shrader had one apiece for a balanced night at the dish.

Layla Azmoun earned the win in the circle allowing six runs, four earned, on 11 hits with six strikeouts.

The Rams improve to 4-4 on the year and host Dover on Friday.

Lexington 11, Wooster 1

The Lexington Lady Lex remained undefeated on the year with an 11-1 Ohio Cardinal Conference victory over Wooster on Wednesday night.

Jillian Morr, Kylie Thornton and Rylie McGuire had two hits apiece while Quinn Patrick, Kylie Galownia, Kaylie Eichorn, Madyson Taylor and Addison Cyrus had one hit apiece. Galownia, Eichorn, Thornton, Taylor and McGuire had two RBIs apiece and Morr rounded out the offense with one.

Galownia earned the win in the circle pitching one inning allowing one run on one hit with one strikeout. Cyrus worked the final five innings allowing just three hits with four strikeouts.

Lexington is now 8-0 on the year and takes on Norwayne on Friday at the MVD Invitational at Marshall Park in Ontario.

The Clear Fork Colts earned an impressive Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Pleasant on Wednesday, 11-9.

Macy Ousley led the way with three hits while Jada Brokaw and Katrina Rogers had two hits apiece and Mel Blubaugh, Andrea Swainhart and Bri Patterson had one hit apiece. Rogers and Ousley had three RBIs apiece while Blubaugh had two and Brokaw, Mya Perry and Patterson had one apiece. Rogers slugged a home run in the win.

The Colts are now 5-2 on the season and host Northwestern on Friday.

Shelby 19, Highland 9

The Shelby Whippets overcame a slow start to turn a close game into a blowout with a 19-9 win over Highland on Wednesday in MOAC action.

Down 9-8, the Whippets scored 11 unanswered runs over the final three innings to come away with the victory. Natalie Kennard, Kendal Parsons, Mallary Gundrum, Lexi Booker, Kennedy Studer and Kendra Walp all had two hits apiece while Maggie Bogner had one. Booker collected three RBIs while Bogner, Braylee Sturts and Walp had two RBIs apiece and Parsons, Gundrum, Studer and Katie Taylor had one apiece.

Snyder took the win in the circle tossing five innings allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts.

The Whippets improve to 8-1 and take on Ashland on Friday at the MVD tournament at Marshall Park in Ontario.

The Crestview Cougars took home an easy 15-3 Firelands Conference win over South Central on Wednesday.

Sophie Durbin led the way with three hits including two doubles, a walk, three runs scored, three stolen bases and two RBIs while Chesnie Patton had one hit, a home run, with two runs scored, three RBIs and a sac fly. PJ Endicott had three hits, all doubles, with two runs scored and two RBIs while Kalee Hamman had one hit with an RBI and two runs scored, Allison Volz had two hits, one was a triple, with two RBIs and one run scored, Carlee Crider had two hits, one run scored and one RBI, Maddie Grant had one hit, one walk and one run and Makenna Tackett had one hit, two walks, one run and two RBIs.

Hamman took the win in the circle allowing three runs on four hits with six strikeouts, one walk and one hit batter. She earned her 100th strikeout in the victory.

Crestview is now 7-2 overall and heads to Western Reserve on Thursday.

The Ontario Warriors saw the bats come alive with a 15-5 win over Galion on Tuesday night in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Trista Jewell led the way with four hits while Piper Studer and Brinlee Kreger had three hits apiece, Morgan Pearson had two and Eden Howard, Kennedy Weiler, Autumn Taylor, Olivia Kreger, Bailey DelGreco and Brylie Ireland had one hit apiece. Jewell had four RBIs while Brinlee Kreger had three, Weiler and Pearson had two apiece and Studer, Howard, Taylor and Olivia Kreger had one apiece. Pearson clubbed a home run in the win.

The Ontario Warriors took a tough 8-0 loss to St. Marys during their spring trip to West Virginia on Saturday.

Eden Howard had the only two hits for the Warriors.

The Warriors capped off their spring trip with a 1-0 loss to St. Marys in the second game of the twin bill.

The Clear Fork Colts took a thrilling 9-7 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference softball win over Ontario on Monday night.

Mel Blubaugh led the Colts with two hits while Mya Perry, Katrina Rogers, Renee Anders, Jada Brokaw, Macy Ousley and Hailly Thrush added one hit apiece. Rogers and Ousley had three RBIs apiece while Blubaugh had two and Brokaw had one. Rogers and Blubaugh both clubbed home runs in the victory. It is Rogers' fourth of the season.

Trista Jewell, Autumn Taylor, Olivia Kreger and Maddie Mullins all had two hits apiece while Eden Howard, Morgan Pearson and Brylie Ireland had one hit apiece for the Warriors. Jewell had two RBIs while Taylor, Kreger, Pearson and Brinlee Kreger had one apiece. Jewell had a home run in the loss.

The Shelby Whippets picked up an easy 16-3 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Galion on Monday.

Natalie Kennard and Mallary Gundrum led the way with three hits apiece while Maggie Bogner had two and Kendal Parsons, Braylee Sturts, Lexi Mohn, Kendra Walp and Kelsey Snyder had one hit apiece. Bogner, Parsons, Sturts and Mohn had two RBIs apiece while Kennard, Gundrum, Lexi Booker and Katie Taylor had one RBI apiece in the win. Snyder, Bogner and Kennard hit doubles while Sturts, Mohn and Gundrum each recorded a triple.

Lexi Booker earned the win in the circle allowing three runs, just one earned, on four hits with two strikeouts in five innings of work.

The Whippets improve to 4-1 on the year and travel to Galion on Wednesday.

Mansfield Christian 18, Central Christian 0 F/5

The Mansfield Christian Flames picked up a nice 18-0 Mid-Buckeye Conference win over Central Christian on Monday.

Noel Cline led the way with four hits including a triple while also adding six RBIs and earning the win in the circle allowing three hits with five strikeouts.

The Flames improve to 1-1 on the season.

Saturday, March 30

Madison 10, Shelby 5

The Madison Rams picked up a nice 10-5 victory over the Shelby Whippets in nonconference action on Saturday.

Emily Nolan and Izzy Wamsley had three hits apiece for Madison while Ashley Markley and Allie Shrader had two hits apiece and Kylie Reiter, Emma Stankovich, Libby Bekeleski and Kendyll Kershner had one hit apiece. Markley and Stankovich had two RBIs while Reiter, Campbell Kiser, Shrader, BEkeleski and Kershner had one RBI apiece. Bekeleski had a home run in the victory.

Layla Azmoun earned the win in the circle allowing five runs, four earned, on eight hits with 12 strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Mallary Gundrum and Braylee Sturts led the Whippets with two hits apiece while Maggie Bogner, Kendal Parsons, Lexi Booker and Kendra Walp had one hit apiece. Gundrum and Sturts had two RBIs while Natalie Kennard had one. Sturts and Gundrum both slugged home runs in the loss.

Madison improves to 3-2 on the year and travels to Lexington on Tuesday while Shelby falls to 3-1 and hosts Galion on Tuesday.

Friday, March 29

Lexington 8, Clear Fork 7

The Lexington Lady Lex earned a dramatic 8-7 victory over Clear Fork on Friday night.

After taking a 4-0 lead into the seventh inning, Lex allowed Clear Fork to score seven runs in the top of the seventh to take a momentum-shifting 8-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh. Lex proceeded to score four runs in the home half including a walk off double by Kylie Thornton to give Lex its first win of the season.

Kylie Galownia, Makaree Chapman, Thornton and Madyson Taylor led Lady Lex with two hits apiece while Jillian Morr and Quinn Patrick had one hit apiece. Thornton had four RBIs while Chapman had two and Emily Asher had one.

Hailly Thrush led Clear Fork with two hits while Mya Perry, Mel Blubaugh, Katrina Rogers, Macy Ousley, Jada Brokaw, Addy Schlosser and Chloee Steward had one hit apiece. Thursh had three RBIs while Ousley had two and Blubaugh and Brokaw had one apiece.

Lexington is 1-0 to start the year and travels to Clyde on Monday while Clear Fork falls to 2-2 on the year and heads to Ontario on Monday.

Crestview 7, Keystone 1

The Crestview Cougars earned a massive 7-1 win over Keystone on Friday night in nonconference action.

Sophie Durbin had one hit, one steal and one run scored giving her 100 runs scored for her illustrious career. Chesnie Patton had one hit and one run while PJ Endicott had one hit, one run and one RBI. Kalee Hamman collected two hits and two RBIS while Allison Volz added one hit and one RBI, Jillian Weaver had two hits and one RBI and Maddie Grant had one hit. Patton earned the win in the circle allowing on run on four hits with six strikeouts.

Crestview improves to 3-0 and hosts Western Reserve on Monday.

Ontario 6, River Valley 4

The Ontario Warriors rebounded with a solid 6-4 victory on Friday to split the MOAC season series with River Valley.

Piper Studer had a big day at the plate with three hits while Trista Jewell had two and Kennedy Weiler, Morgan Pearson, Maddie Mullins and Bailey DelGreco had one hit apiece. Studer, Jewell, Pearson and Brinlee Kreger had one RBI apiece in the win.

Autumn Taylor earned the win in the circle allowing four runs, just two earned, on six hits with seven strikeouts.

The Warriors improve to 1-2 and host Clear Fork on Monday.

Hillsdale 9, Madison 6

The Madison Rams took a tough 9-6 loss to Hillsdale on Friday in nonconference action.

Kyleigh Reiter and Campbell Kiser led the Rams with two hits while Emily Nolan, Izzy Wamsley and Allie Shrader had one hit apiece. Nolan collected two RBIs while Reiter, Kiser and Shrader had one RBI apiece. Reiter had two doubles in the loss.

Madison falls to 2-2 and heads to Shelby on Saturday.

Thursday, March 28

Crestview 16, Norwalk 0

The Crestview Cougars earned a dominant win over Norwalk on Thursday night winning 16-0 in nonconference action.

Sophie Durbin led the way with two hits, four steals and three runs scored while Chesnie Patton had two hits including a home run and a double with two RBIs and two runs. PJ Endicott added a hit and two runs while Kalee Hamman had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Allison Volz added two hits, two runs and two RBIs while Jillian Weaver slugged a home run and added two RBIs. Maddie Grant added two hits, two RBIs and two runs while Mallary Ringler added two hits and two runs and Makeena Tacket had one hit.

Hamman pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and three hits allowed.

The Cougars improve to 2-0 and head to Keystone on Friday.

Madison 8, New Philadelphia 3

The Madison Rams rebounded nicely with an 8-3 win over New Philadelphia on Thursday after dropping Game 1 of the series.

Kyleigh Reiter had a huge day at the plate with four hits while Allie Shrader had three, Emily Nolan and Campbell Kiser had two apiece and Izzy Wamsley, Ashley Markley and Emma Stankovich had one apiece. Kiser collected three RBIs while Reiter had two and Markley, Stankovich and Shrader had one apiece. Reiter had a double and a triple and Stankovich clubbed a home run in the victory.

Layla Azmoun earned the win in the circle allowing three runs on 10 hits with seven strikeouts.

The Rams improve to 2-1 and travel to Hillsdale on Friday.

Clear Fork 13, Galion 5

The Clear Fork Colts earned an impressive 13-5 win overt Galion in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action on Thursday.

Mel Blubaugh led the Colts with four hits while Katrina Rogers had three, Addy Schlosser had two and Mya Perry, Jada Brokaw, Hailly Thrush, Andrea Swainhart, Chloee Steward and Miley Shafer had one hit apiece. Rogers collected nine RBIs while Swainhart, Steward and Shafer had one apiece. Rogers clubbed two home runs in the victory.

Shafer took the win in the circle working six innings allowing no runs on two hits with three strikeouts.

Clear Fork improves to 2-1 on the year and heads to Lexington on Friday.

Plymouth 15, Mansfield Christian 10

The Plymouth Big Red earned a nice 15-10 win over Mansfield Christian on Thursday in nonconference action.

Kristi Yeager, Kendyll Tolbert and Jaylin Branham had two hits apiece for Plymouth while Emily Irven, Madison Montgomery, Cailynn Bailey and Jette Cottig had one hit apiece. Irven and Montgomery had four RBIs apiece while Branham had three and Tolbert added one. Irven clubbed a home run in the victory.

Kaci Powell had two hits for the Flames.

Plymouth improves to 1-1 on the year and travels to South Central on Monday. Mansfield Christian is 0-1 and hosts Central Christian on Monday.

River Valley 8, Ontario 6

The Ontario Warriors took a tough MOAC loss to River Valley on Thursday falling 8-6.

Eden Howard led the Warriors with three hits while Autumn Taylor and Morgan Pearson had two apiece and Piper Studer, Kennedy Weiler and Brylie Ireland had one hit apiece. Howard had two RBIs while Taylor and Brinlee Kreger had one RBI apiece.

The Warriors fall to 1-1 on the season and travel to River Valley on Friday.

Wednesday, March 27

Clear Fork 4, Galion 3

The Clear Fork Colts used a dramatic ending to pick up a 4-3 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Galion on Wednesday night.

Katrina Rogers drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to walk it off for the Colts. She ended with three hits while Mel Blubaugh, Mya Perry, Macy Ousley, Jada Brokaw, Andrea Swainhart, Addy Schlosser and Miley Shafer had one hit apiece. Rogers finished with two RBIs while Ousley and Shafer had one apiece. Rogers slugged a home run in the victory.

Shafter worked the first six innings allowing three runs, none earned, on four hits with three strikeouts. Rogers earned the win working the final inning with one strikeout.

The Colts are now 1-1 and travel to Galion on Thursday.

Shelby 21, Marion Harding 3

The Shelby Whippets earned an impressive 21-3 win over Marion Harding in MOAC play on Wednesday night.

Kendal Parsons led the way with four hits while Braylee Sturts added three, Mallary Gundrum and Lexi Booker had two apiece and Maggie Bogner, Natalie Kennard, Kendra Walp, Adey Cornette and Kennedy Studer had one hit apiece. Gundrum and Booker had three RBIs apiece while Bogner and Parsons had two apiece and Lexi Mohn, Sturts, Cornette, Alyssa Booker, Katie Taylor and Kennedy Studer had one RBI apiece. Gundrum clubbed a home run in the victory while Parsons had two doubles and a triple.

Kelsey Snyder earned the win in the circle allowing three runs on four hits with four strikeouts in five innings of work.

Shelby is now 3-0 and travels to Madison on Saturday.

New Philadelphia 7, Madison 6

The Madison Rams took a tough 7-6, walkoff loss to New Philadelphia in the Ohio Cardinal Conference opener on Wednesday.

Kyleigh Reiter led the way with three hits while Emily Nolan added two and Izzy Wamsley, Ashley Markley, Campbell Kiser, Emma Stankovich, Libby Bekeleski and Allie Shrader had one hit apiece. Reiter and Bekeleski had two RBIs apiece and Nolan added one.

Layla Azmoun took a tough loss in the circle allowing seven runs, five earned, on 10 hits with six strikeouts.

The Rams are now 1-1 and host New Philly on Thursday.

Tuesday, March 26

Shelby 14, Marion Harding 4 F/5

The Shelby Whippets continued their winning ways with a 14-4 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Marion Harding on Tuesday to open up league play.

Lexi Booker led the way with three hits while Adey Cornette and Kendra Walp had two apiece and Natalie Kennard, Kendal Parsons, Mallary Gundrum and Braylee Sturts had one hit apiece. Gundrum collected three RBIs while Walp had two and Kennard, Parsons, Sturts, Cornette and Booker had one apiece.

Booker earned the win in the circle working all five innings allowing four runs on five hits with six strikouts.

The Whippets improve to 2-0 and host Harding on Wednesday.

Monday, March 25

Madison 6, Ontario 5

The Madison Rams took home a solid 6-5 nonconference victory over Ontario on opening day of the 2024 high school softball season.

Izzy Wamsley had a huge debut for the Rams with four hits while Ashley Markely added two and Emily Nolan, Kyleigh Reiter and Emma Stankovich had one hit apiece. Markley had three RBIs while Wamsley, Reiter and Campbell Kiser had one RBI apiece in the win. Layla Azmoun picked up the win in the circle allowing five runs, just two earned, on 10 hits with six strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Trista Jewell, Kennedy Weiler and Brinlee Kreger had two hits apiece for the Warriors while Piper Studer, Eden Howard, Autumn Taylor and Maddie Mullens had one hit apiece. Weiler had two RBIs while Taylor, Millins and Kreger had one apiece. Taylor look the loss in the circle allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts. Howard worked the final three innings allowing just two hits with three strikeouts.

The Rams are 1-0 and travel to New Philadelphia on Tuesday. Ontario is 0-1 and hosts River Valley on Tuesday.

Crestview 12, Black River 2

The Crestview Cougars cruised to an opening day victory over Black River on Monday, 12-2.

Sophie Durbin had one hit, two steals and two runs scored while Chesnie Patton had two hits an an RBI, PJ Endicott added one hit and one RBI, Kalee Hamman added one hit, a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Allison Volz had two hits with a triple and three runs. Maddie Grant added two hits, both doubles, with four RBIs while Makeena Tackett had one hit, one run and one RBI to her credit. Jillian Weaver also scored a run.

Patton took the win in the circle allowing two runs on four hits with eight strikeouts in six innings of work.

The Cougars are 1-0 and travel to Norwalk on Tuesday.

Shelby 8, Norwalk 1

The Shelby Whippets cruised to a season-opening win over Norwalk, 8-1, in nonconference action on Monday.

Maggie Bogner, Natalie Kennard and Mallary Gundrum led the way with two hits apiece while Kendal Parsons, Katie Taylor, Adey Cornette and Braylee Sturts had one hit apiece. Sturts collected two RBIs while Kennard and Gundrum had one apiece. Sturts slugged a home run in the victory.

Lexi Booker picked up the win in the circle allowing one run on four hits in 6 ⅔ innings with 10 strikeouts.

The Whippets improve to 1-0 and travel to Marion Harding on Tuesday.

Triway 7, Clear Fork 0

The Clear Fork Colts took a tough 7-0 opening day loss to Triway in nonconference action Monday evening.

The Colts did not record a hit and had 15 strikeouts.

They fall to 0-1 and travel to Galion on Tuesday.

Colonel Crawford 15, Plymouth 13

The Plymouth Big Red took a tough 15-13 loss to Colonel Crawford on Monday in nonconference action.

Jaylin Branham led the Big Red with three hits while Kendyl Tolbert had two hits and Emily Irven, Madison Montgomery and Lily Cook had one hit apiece. Branham had three RBIs while Tolbert, Montgomery, Cailynn Bailey and Cook had one RBI apiece. Branham had a home run for the Big Red.

Plymouth is 0-1 and hosts Crestline on Wednesday.
