Report: Sixers expected to make a run at Lakers buyout DeAndre Jordan
The Philadelphia 76ers are still in the middle of trying to fortify their roster before the 2022 playoffs begin. While they made their big move back on Feb. 10 to acquire superstar James Harden, they still need a backup big man.
The Sixers did acquire Paul Millsap in the Harden deal, but they could still stand to add somebody else in the buyout market.
The Los Angeles Lakers just waived veteran big man DeAndre Jordan and the Sixers are now expected to make a run at the 14-year veteran out of Texas A&M. Jordan played in 32 games for the Lakers and he averaged 4.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game.
The 76ers have been in the market for a backup center and will be aggressive in pursuit of DeAndre Jordan — either placing a waiver claim or working to sign him as a free agent should he clear waivers, sources tell ESPN.

The Sixers moved Andre Drummond to the Brooklyn Nets in the Harden deal so they have been in need of somebody to replace him. Jordan is not the same guy who once made the All-NBA First Team, but he can bring an ability as somebody who can roll to the basket and catch lobs.
