Report: Nation’s top 2025 running back to visit Ohio State over summer

It cannot be stressed enough that there is a big need for Ohio State to sign at least two running backs in the 2024 cycle. The Buckeyes failed to sign one in 2023, but the depth is there even without a freshman entering the mix. The need is there for the 2025 class as well.

There have been multiple running backs linked to OSU for the 2024 cycle. Samuel Dixon is one of them. Looking ahead to 2025, you can add Virginia’s Gideon Davidson to the list.

According to a report from 247Sports Bill Kurelic, Davidson plans to visit Columbus in June for a camp (subscription required). There is potential for him to also make a trip during spring practice as well.

Davidson doesn’t appear on the 247Sports composite yet, but he is ranked by them as the top running back in the country and No. 19 overall player in the 2025 class.
