REPORT: Deion Sanders expected to hire Robert Livingston as Colorado’s new defensive coordinator

Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders is expected to hire Cincinnati Bengals secondary coach Robert Livingston as the Buffs’ new defensive coordinator, as reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday.

Per Rapoport, Livingston is currently in Colorado and speaking with Coach Prime.

Livingston first joined the Bengals in 2012 as a scout before becoming an on-field coach in 2015. This past season was Livingston’s eighth year as the Bengals’ secondary coach.

During his time in Cincinnati, Livingston worked closely with notable Bengals DBs Reggie Nelson, Vonn Bell, Adam Jones, Jessie Bates III, former Buff Chidobe Awuzie and others.

A native of North Carolina, Livingston played safety at The College of William & Mary from 2007-09 before beginning his coaching career at Furman in 2010. He was then a defensive quality control analyst at Vanderbilt in 2011.

Livingston’s expected hiring comes just over one month after former Colorado DC Charles Kelly accepted an assistant coaching role at Auburn.
