Report: Colts could sign WR Breshad Perriman after workout

The Indianapolis Colts worked out free-agent wide receiver Breshad Perriman and reportedly are in discussions about potentially signing the veteran, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN on Friday.

The former first-round pick from the 2015 NFL draft has bounced around the league and while the Colts added some extra competition to the room this offseason in the form of rookie Josh Downs, they’re always looking for more.

Perriman worked out for the Colts on Friday so this will be something to monitor.

Perriman was the No. 26 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He spent three seasons there before bouncing around the league with several teams.

In 67 career games (22 starts), Perriman has recorded 129 receptions for 2,148 yards and 15 touchdowns. His best season came in 2019 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he recorded 36 receptions for 645 yards and six touchdowns.

We’ll see if the Colts wind up signing the deep threat who has averaged 16.7 yards per reception for his career so this will be something to keep an eye on over the next week.
