Report: Bulls among 6 teams that ‘appeal’ to Jrue Holiday for trade

For the most part, the Chicago Bulls have managed to stay out of most NBA trade rumors. They were briefly floated as a potential landing spot for Damian Lillard, but nothing was ever concrete. Zach LaVine was floated around as a potential trade chip, but again, those rumors were nothing more than speculation.

However, that may be changing. With Lillard joining the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team trade with the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns, Jrue Holiday will now be hitting the trade market. The Bulls could make sense as a potential landing spot, and the veteran point guard might be interested in the move.

According to Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Bulls are among six teams that “appeal” to Holiday as a trade destination.

“League sources told the Miami Herald on Thursday that the Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers are destinations that appeal to Holiday,” Chiang and Jackson wrote. “That’s important because Holiday, 33, can become a free agent next summer with a player option worth $37.4 million in his contract for the 2024-25 season.”

Chicago has been in desperate need of point guard help ever since Lonzo Ball went down midway through his first season with the Bulls.

Not only would Holiday fill that gap for the Bulls, but his blend of All-Defensive talent and three-point shooting would make him the perfect fit next to LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic.

If there’s a pathway for the Bulls to trade for Holiday, they should definitely be looking into the idea.
