Report: Brooklyn Nets sign Harry Giles III to one-year deal

The Brooklyn Nets still have some roster spots open with training camp for the 2023-24 season just about a month away. It looks like they’re looking to fill as many spot as possible before training camp arrives.

Chris Haynes of TNT and Bleacher Report reported on Friday that the Nets have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent forward Harry Giles III. This appears to indicate that when Brooklyn attended Giles’ workout in Miami in the beginning of August, as reported at the time by Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, they came away impressed enough to get another look at what he can do in training camp.

Giles, 25, came into the NBA with a lot of promise as the 20th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Duke. However, it seems that a combination of knee issues and ineffective play have put his career in an uncertain place as he last played an NBA game during the 2020-21 season.
