Report: Another Texas Tech basketball player plots transfer portal entry

Another Texas Tech basketball player is reportedly planning a trip to the transfer portal.

The Athletic reported Saturday that forward Robert Jennings will depart the Red Raiders and look for a new home via the portal. The 6-foot-7 forward out of Desoto started nine of Tech's last 10 games.

As of Saturday evening, Jennings has not officially entered the portal, according to a Tech spokesman.

Jennings saw his minutes increase with the absence of Warren Washington. He became an integral part of Tech's revamped defensive scheme late in the season and started the NCAA Tournament game against NC State last week.

On the season, Jennings averaged 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game, hitting 52.7% of his total field goals.

Jennings is the second Tech player to hit the portal (once he officially enters) this offseason. KyeRon Lindsay entered the portal last week after being away from the team the final six games of the season.

Last offseason, Jennings entered the portal before opting to return under new head coach Grant McCasland. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
