The Reds plan to take in the eclipse from the field at Great American Ball Park

On Monday, the Cincinnati Reds will take in the solar eclipse from the field at Great American Ball Park. Reds manager David Bell said the team has eclipse glasses ready to go.

Cincinnati is scheduled to experience the partial eclipse at 3:09 p.m., according to National Eclipse. That’s before the Reds start batting practice, and they’ll be able to go through their normal pregame routine on the field before Monday's game.

Around 3:09 p.m. before games that start at 6:40, Reds players are usually stretching, working out, preparing for the game and talking in the clubhouse. On Monday, they can go out onto the field during that time and observe the eclipse.

On Sunday, Bell said that the Reds hadn’t finalized the team’s pregame schedule for Monday, and the eclipse hadn’t been a big point of discussion as the Reds prepare to begin a series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
