Ex-Patriot Yodny Cajuste already has visits lined up with Patriots’ rivals

Former New England Patriots offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste didn’t have to wait long for his phone to start ringing.

After being released by the Patriots last Thursday, the former third-round draft pick is reportedly expected to visit with the New York Jets on Monday and New York Giants on Tuesday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Jets are the Patriots’ AFC East rivals, and the Giants have a long history with the Patriots, along with being on their 2023 regular season schedule. So if Cajuste does end up signing with one of the organizations, he won’t have to wait long to face his former team.

Cajuste never took off for the Patriots the way the team envisioned.

The opportunity was clearly there in the 2022 season with the team dealing with all kinds of injuries along the offensive front. Yet, Cajuste continued to drag behind and never really succeeded in a chance to separate from the pack.

Given how high he was drafted, it’s no surprise other teams would want to get a close-up look at him in their offense. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him some good.
