Ravens WR Sammy Watkins active vs. Dolphins; TE Nick Boyle, DT Brandon Williams out

Ravens veteran wide receiver Sammy Watkins is active for Thursday night’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins, meaning Baltimore will have its top three wide receivers on the field together for the first time this season.

Watkins will be playing in his first game since injuring his thigh in a 31-25 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5. The veteran wideout was a full participant in Wednesday’s walkthrough after being limited Monday and Tuesday.

Watkins, who has 18 catches for 292 yards this season and is averaging 16.2 yards per reception, joins Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and first-round draft pick Rashod Bateman on the active roster.

Meanwhile, tight end Nick Boyle (knee) will not play against the Dolphins. Boyle hasn’t played since suffering a season-ending knee injury against the New England Patriots in mid-November of last year. Earlier this week, Ravens coach John Harbaugh was hopeful Boyle could suit up.

“He’s been practicing well,” Harbaugh said Monday. “I think he will be ready for Thursday. We’ll just have to see where we go with all of that stuff. So, he’s in the mix.”

Right tackle Patrick Mekari (ankle), running back Latavius Murray (ankle) and nose tackle Brandon Williams (shoulder) are also inactive. Mekari and Murray did not participate in practice this week. Meanwhile, Williams, who will be missing his second straight game, did not practice Wednesday despite being limited Monday and Tuesday.

Wide receiver James Proche II, outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson and safety Ar’Darius Washington are also inactive.

Before the game, the Ravens announced that they’ve activated cornerback Chris Westry from injured reserve and moved tight end Eric Tomlinson to the 53-man roster. The Ravens also elevated guard James Carpenter and lineman Khalil McKenzie from the practice squad.

For the Dolphins, quarterback Jacoby Brissett will start in place of Tua Tagovailoa, who will serve as the backup as he continues to recover from a fractured middle finger. Center Greg Mancz (ankle) was placed on the injured reserve list Wednesday, while defensive back Elijah Campbell (toe), tight end Hunter Long, offensive tackle Greg Little, safety Sheldrick Redwine and linebacker Darius Hodge are inactive.
