Ravens officially put CB Chris Westry on injured reserve

The Baltimore Ravens will be taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 of the 2021 season after dropping their first game of the year to the Las Vegas Raiders. Kansas City has gotten the better of Baltimore for three years in a row now, and the Ravens will be looking to put an end to that on Sunday night

At the moment, the two teams are in very different spots health-wise. Baltimore has dealt with a plethora of injuries, while the Chiefs enter Sunday’s game with no players carrying injury designations. On Friday, the Ravens placed a 15th player on injured reserve in cornerback Chris Westry, who tore his lateral meniscus.

Westry played a big role in Baltimore’s Week 1 game as he saw the field for 33 snaps and made a couple of nice plays. A torn lateral meniscus can have a recovery timetable of anywhere in the 4-8 week range, so it seems likely that he will be back before the 2021 season is over.

With Westry and fellow cornerback Marcus Peters on injured reserve as well as Marlon Humphrey and Jimmy Smith being limited in practice with ailments on their own, the Ravens are very thin at the position. They will have to work with the players that they have and hope that they can put together a solid performance against a very good Kansas City offense.
