Ravens HC John Harbaugh praises fans who overcame cold weather in Week 16

The Baltimore Ravens beat the Atlanta Falcons 17-9 on Christmas Eve to bring their record to 10-5 on the season.  It was the coldest game on the year at M&T Bank Stadium, with it being 17 degrees at kickoff.  Quarterback quarterback Tyler Huntley hit Demarcus Robinson in the end zone for the game’s only touchdown, while kicker Justin Tucker added three more field goals in the game.

Head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media after the contest and was asked if this was the coldest game he’s ever been apart of. He mentioned that a game against the Green Bay Packers was colder, but made sure to say that he appreciated the fans who came out and supported the team through the cold.

“The one in Green Bay was colder; do you remember the one in Green Bay a few years back? That was colder, but maybe I didn’t have as good clothes. I have to commend our equipment staff; we had some really warm equipment, so it was good. You know what, the fans. How about all the fans that came to the game today? It’s Christmas Eve day, it’s zero degrees. It’s not exactly ideal outdoor sport weather, unless you’re an ice fisherman or something. Who’d really want to do that? I don’t think that’s about fishing anyway, is it? (laughter)Maybe coming to the game isn’t either; I don’t know, but [I’m] really, really, really proud of our fans. They were loud, they were into it. It was a smaller crowd, but it was a really loud crowd, and I’m really grateful for those fans.”

With the win and losses by the New York Jets and New England Patriots, the Ravens clinched a spot in the playoffs.  The team has two more regular season games, still with they have a shot at winning the division.  If not, they will be one of the three wildcard teams, but if they want to win the division t they will likely need to beat the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 18.
