Ravens currently have sixth-oldest team in NFL

The Baltimore Ravens have a well-balanced roster that has a good mix of both young talent and veterans. They’ve added a lot of new draft picks to their team in recent years, and in turn that has made their offensive unit one of the youngest in the NFL while also having a few young studs on the defensive side of the ball.

However, Baltimore still has plenty of veteran leaders on their roster, especially on defense. The team added a few older players on offense during the 2021 offseason, but that unit is still relatively young with players such as Lamar Jackson, Marquise Brown, Rashod Bateman, and Mark Andrews leading the pack.

When looking at how their roster stacks up with other around the NFL from an age perspective, Andrew Walker of Colts.com put together a list of all 32 teams in order of youngest to oldest, and as of May 15th, the Ravens come in as the 6th-oldest team in the league.

Considering that only one-tenth of a year separates Baltimore from the Buffalo Bills, and only 1.75 years separates the youngest team from the oldest team, the list doesn’t mean as much as people might think. The Ravens could add edge rusher Justin Houston and another veteran player and move from the 6th-oldest team to the oldest team in the league just like that.

Regardless of how old they are in comparison with other NFL franchises, Baltimore has just the right amount of youth to go alongside their older leaders. Even when some of the veteran players move on from the team or retire, the Ravens are set up to be a dominant organization for years to come.
