Rangers announce 2023-24 preseason schedule, including three games at MSG

Oct 17, 2022; New York, New York, USA; New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad (93) celebrates his goal against the Anaheim Ducks during the first period at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers have announced their six-game preseason schedule for the 2022-23 season, with three of them being played at Madison Square Garden.

New York will open up preseason action on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 5 p.m. against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. They’ll then return home for the next two games against the Islanders (Sep. 26) and Devils (Sept. 28), both at 7 p.m.

The Rangers first back-to-back of the preseason will be on that Friday Sept. 29, as they take the short trip out to the Island to again take on the Isles at UBS Arena.

After a few days off, they’ll close out preseason action with another back-to-back. The Rangers will travel to the Prudential Center, where their 2022-23 season came to an end, to take on the Devils on Oct. 4 followed by a home matchup with the Bruins on Oct. 5.

The Rangers finished in third place in the Metropolitan Division last season, but ultimately fell to New Jersey in the first round of the playoffs.

New head coach Peter Laviolette is looking to take this team to the next level this season, so expectations will certainly be high for everyone involved heading into that first preseason bout.
