Raleigh Burgess, a Class of 2024 power forward/center and Sycamore High School standout, is committed to the Purdue Boilermakers, according to a report Monday from on3.com's Joe Tipton.

The 6-foot-11 Burgess retweeted Tipton's tweet of the report.

"I chose Purdue at the end of the day because it was the right fit," Burgess said, per Tipton. "I'm getting a valuable education while playing for a great coaching staff and I'm only three hours from home and you can't do much better than that. … They're getting a player that's excited to be there and will work to be the best he can be while trying to make the program better too. … I'm excited to be a Boiler and I'm ready to get to work! Boiler up!"

Burgess also tweeted that he had offers from Virginia, Iowa, Ohio State, Texas, Pitt, Butler, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Xavier, Dayton, Ohio, College of Charleston, Penn State, Wake Forest, Indiana and Ole Miss. He visited Purdue, UVA, Iowa, OSU, Xavier, Wisconsin and Indiana.

Last week, The Enquirer named Burgess to the second team of 2023 winter all-stars for Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky boys basketball.

As a sophomore for the Aves, Burgess averaged 10.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks, while shooting 62.6 percent from the field. As a junior, he missed part of the season with a leg injury but averaged 14 points and 9.5 rebounds per game and earned second-team Southwest District All-Star honors for Div. I.

In July of last year, Burgess helped Indiana Elite to a 3Stripes Select Basketball 16U title.
