Purdue guard Ethan Morton has announced he will transfer to Colorado State.

A player with more than 130 games of Big Ten experience is transferring to Colorado State from the national runner-up Purdue men's basketball team.

Ethan Morton announced his commitment to the Rams on X Monday morning.

Morton is a 6-foot-7, 215-pound guard originally from Butler, Pennsylvania. He spent the last four seasons at Purdue, which lost the 2024 national title game to UConn.

Morton saw his role decrease during the 2023-24 season, but he played in 132 career games at Purdue, starting 29 in 2022-23. He averaged two points and 1.5 assists per game in his career. His high-scoring season was 3.8 points per game as a senior. He's a career 34% 3-point shooter. He shot 44% from deep as a sophomore but it dipped under 30% each of the last two seasons.

"He’s sacrificed more than anyone I’ve seen on this team," Purdue center Zach Edey told the Lafayette Journal & Courier during Purdue's run to the title game. "We all know what type of player he is. He’s taking a role and he has accepted that role on the team."

For his Purdue career, Morton had 197 assists and 74 turnovers and was known as a strong defender.

Morton has one season to play with the Rams and will have a chance earn a starting spot and big minutes on a team reloading a roster.

CSU graduated five players from its 2024 NCAA Tournament team. Another four have entered the transfer portal, and one (Nique Clifford) is exploring the NBA draft.

With the addition of Morton, CSU has five open scholarships remaining if Clifford remains in the draft.

Morton was ranked as the No. 83 recruit nationally by ESPN out of high school and was Pennsylvania's Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior.
