Projecting the 49ers defensive line depth chart after trade for Randy Gregory

On Friday, in a surprise move, the San Francisco 49ers made headlines by acquiring veteran edge rusher Randy Gregory in a trade with the Denver Broncos.

The 49ers sent a 2024 6th-round pick to the Broncos for Gregory and a 2024 7th-round pick. With the addition of Gregory, the 49ers now boast another proven rusher alongside Nick Bosa.

After signing a long-term contract with the Broncos in 2022, Gregory had three sacks in 10 games in Denver. Prior to joining the Broncos, Gregory recorded 16.5 sacks over a five-season run with the Dallas Cowboys.

Before Gregory and the 49ers’ new-look pass rush meet the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 5, here’s a look at how the 49ers defensive line depth chart could look.
