PRESS BOX: Bobsledder won't be disciplined, X Games moving to Austin

Olympic hurdler and bobsled-team hopeful Lolo Jones will not be disciplined for an altercation at a bar last week, the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation announced late Tuesday night.

Fox Sports Tonight reported Monday that Jones allegedly was involved in a fight with the stepdaughter of Hall of Fame bobsledder Tony Carlino on Friday night in Lake Placid, N.Y., where the American team is training for the National Push Bobsled Championships next week in Calgary, Alberta.

Federation spokeswoman Amanda Bird said team officials determined that Jones did not knock out the woman, which was reported by several media outlets. No charges were filed in the incident.

Federation CEO Darrin Steele said there was no indication that team rules were violated but that the organization was disappointed with what apparently transpired nonetheless.

---Austin (Texas) was named to replace Los Angeles as one of the host cities for the Global X Games, ESPN announced Wednesday.

Austin was one of four finalists for the X Games, which will be held for four years in the Texas capital city beginning next May. The other contenders were Charlotte, N.C., Chicago and Detroit.

Circuit of the Americas, a sports and entertainment complex that opened last year just outside of Austin, will be the site for the Games. The venue played host to the U.S. Grand Prix, the only Formula One race in the United States, last November.
