Here are high school sports results from around Springfield for Monday, Sept. 11 through Wednesday, Sept. 13.

WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

GIRLS GOLF

Zak, SHG win quadrangular

LINCOLN — Sacred Heart-Griffin's Natalie Zak carded 3-over-par 38 to earn first place individually and as a team in a quadrangular at the Lincoln Elks Club.

Teammate Izzy Hassebrock was second with a 41. Macie Petropoulos (45) and Maddy Johnston (46) rounded out the team score.

Kendall Knauer (43), Emma Schefler (45), Madelyn Beck (45) and Abygail Woudenberg (49) vaulted Springfield High to second place. Chatham Glenwood shot 217 to top Lincoln's 237 for third.

BOYS GOLF

Barr leads Crimsons to win

JERSEYVILLE — Colton Barr shot a 1-over-par 36 to lead Jacksonville past Jerseyville 160-182 at the Jerseyville Country Club.

Elias Martin added a 4-over 39 for the Crimsons while teammates Thatcher Frye (42) and Maddux Moore (43) both came within eight strokes of par.

Michael Roberts led Jerseyville with a 44.

VOLLEYBALL

Lutheran rolls to MSM win

Meena Taylor dished up 14 assists and four aces in Lutheran’s 25-5, 25-20 MSM Conference win over Bunker Hill.

Phoebe Cochran had six kills while Clara Brunner pitched in three kills, three digs and four aces. The Crusaders improved to 5-0 in the league.

IN OTHER NEWS: MACKENZIE MEHOCHKO totaled 10 kills and 12 digs in Nokomis’ 25-11, 25-16 nonconference win over Vandalia. ADDISON GLENN poured in six kills and five blocks. LIZZY HILL led the defense with 16 digs in addition to two aces. ... KATE COSGRIFF had a well-rounded effort in Jacksonville Routt's 25-8, 25-13 win over Griggsville-Perry. Cosgriff finished with 17 points — including eight aces — seven assists, three digs and two kills.

TUESDAY’S RESULTS

VOLLEYBALL

Sasse, Lincoln knock off Glenwood

CHATHAM — Lincoln jumped to a 9-1 lead in the third set and outlasted host Chatham Glenwood 25-15, 18-25, 25-16 in an entertaining Central State Eight Conference volleyball match on Tuesday.

The Titans trailed just 13-11 in the final set before Lincoln junior hitter Peyton Sasse helped put the game away with consecutive points at the service line down the stretch.

Sasse amassed 15 kills, 10 digs, three aces and one block while senior outside hitter Kloe Froebe delivered 14 kills and 17 digs.

Senior setter Addy Qualters dished up 37 assists in the 5-1 while senior libero Becca Heitzig produced 26 digs to lift Lincoln to 14-2 overall and 5-0 in the league.

Mya Marshall led Glenwood (13-5, 2-2 CS8) with nine kills and six blocks while Alexis Neumann had six kills, six blocks and four aces. Mo Wiezorek posted 18 assists and 10 digs. Reagan Littrell had 14 digs

IN OTHER NEWS: KAMI SHEEDY had seven kills and four digs as New Berlin toppled Calvary 25-7, 25-17 in a nonconference match. KAYLEE COWHICK led the Pretzels with 18 assists while LAYLA HEIN recorded a team-high four aces to go with her six kills. … IZZIE BRADSHAW had a team-best six kills in Jacksonville Routt’s 25-21, 25-15 Western Illinois Valley Conference loss to Greenfield. KATE COSGRIFF added eight assists, six digs and one block while teammate JENNA VARELA finished with 12 digs and five assists for the Rockets, who fell to 2-11 (overall, 0-2 WIVC). … RUTH BECKER tallied five digs, four kills and one ace in Springfield High’s 25-10, 25-18 Central State Eight Conference loss to Normal U-High at Willard Duey Gymnasium. MADISON CLARK led the Senators (8-8 overall, 2-2 CS8) with nine assists, LILA AMBROSE had three blocks and EVA HAMANN carded five kills. The Pioneers improved to 14-2 (4-0).

BOYS SOCCER

Matteson’s multi-goal game lifts Lutheran

RIVERTON — Carter Matteson scored twice on Tuesday and led Lutheran to a 3-1 nonconference win over Riverton.

Matteson’s goal in the 25th minute gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead before Riverton’s Julian Rice tied the match 10 minutes later off an assist from Eli Lafalce.

Jacob Carter broke the tie in the second half with a goal in the 56th minute before Matteson gave Lutheran an insurance goal in the 71st minute, from Rylan Radtke.

Tristen Perry stopped four shots on goal to earn the victory.

Rockets stay perfect in CS8

DECATUR — Major Gibson scored the first two goals for Rochester and the Rockets tacked on five more in a 7-0 Central State Eight Conference win over Decatur Eisenhower.

Gibson has five goals this season and Rochester improved to 8-3 (overall, 5-0 CS8).

Landon Kutcher scored the Rockets’ last goal of the first half to give Rochester a 4-0 lead. He also had three assists, to give him eight goals and six assists overall.

Adan Nieves, Tucker Spraetz, Cohen Spengler and Ben Tuxhorn also scored for the Rockets.

Eisenhower, a cooperative with crosstown MacArthur, fell to 4-5 (1-3 CS8).

GIRLS GOLF

Scheffler, Beck lead Senators to win

AUBURN — Emma Scheffler and Madelyn Beck combined to shoot an 87 as Springfield High won a five-team match at Edgewood Golf Club.

Scheffler led the Senators with a 7-over-par 43 while Beck registered a 44. Kendall Knauer joined Scheffler and Beck in the 40s with a 47 while Meher Garg fired a 52 as the Senators had the lowest team score with a 186.

Williamsville edged Pleasant Plains and Auburn for the runner-up spot with a 201. Zoey Beard and Naomi Roberts each shot 45s for the Bullets.

Alaina Ervin, of Pleasant Plains, earned medalist honors with a 4-over 40 while teammate Brandi Leesman finished at 49. The Cardinals finished three strokes behind Williamsville and three strokes ahead of fourth-place Auburn with a 204.

Mailee Schoen led Auburn with a 49. Petersburg PORTA finished fifth with a team score of 233.

IN OTHER NEWS: EMMA MEHAFFY and CAMRYN OSTERMEIER both shot in the 40s to lead Chatham Glenwood to a triangular win over Litchfield and Pana at Litchfield Country Club. Mehaffy fired a 10-over 47 while Ostermeier came within a stroke of her teammate with a 48. Glenwood finished with a team score of 200 while Litchfield edged out Pana 222-232 for second. Litchfield's KENNEDI ISAACS earned medalist honors with an even-par 37.

BOYS GOLF

Lancers win by one stroke

STAUNTON — Raymond Lincolnwood clipped second-place South County 167-168 and the Lancers won their 21st match of the season in a six-team boys golf meet at Timber Lakes Golf Course.

Bryce Cowdrey’s 4-over-par 40 led the way for Lincolnwood (21-6). Brady Schmedeke and Lance Weitekamp each shot a 42, while teammate Zeke Castelberry finished with 43.

Logan Smith was medalist, but his even-par 36 for South County wasn’t enough. Gunner Finley had a 38 for third-place Ramsey (179), and the Lincolnwood junior varsity team (201) placed fourth.

Dexter Frizzo had a 41 for Mount Olive (204), and Lutheran (207) completed the team standings.

IN OTHER NEWS: TUG SCHWAB and AJ ODLE both shot 5-over-par 41s and Litchfield won a five-team meet by seven strokes at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton. Litchfield finished with 168 and medalist PRESTON DENNEY carded a 3-over 39 to lead Staunton (175) to second place. Piasa Southwestern (212), Gillespie (218) and Greenville (233) rounded out the team scoring.

MONDAY’S RESULTS

VOLLEYBALL

Williamsville falls in three sets

WILLIAMSVILLE — Sisters Britni and Brianna Walters combined for 26 kills and 22 digs but Williamsville dropped to Deer Creek-Mackinaw 18-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Britni had 14 kills and 11 digs while Brianna had 12 kills, 11 digs and seven aces. Hope Keenan and Ayla Howard had 16 and 14 digs, respectively. Riley Holliday chalked up 27 assists for the Bullets, who fell to 6-3 overall.

Reagan Kelley led Dee-Mack (8-7) with 10 kills. Izzy Weir had 20 assists and three blocks while Lailah Armendarez pitched in seven digs and two aces.

IN OTHER NEWS: ALYSON MURPHY totaled eight kills and nine digs while KAMRIE CHARRON had six kills, eight digs and four aces in Mount Pulaski’s 25-23, 25-20 nonconference loss to Pleasant Plains. ELLA BOBELL had 17 assists. … ADDISON GLENN and MACKENZIE MEHOCHKO each had seven kills in Nokomis’ 25-16, 25-16 MSM Conference win over South County. Mehochko also had 10 digs. KINLEY STOLTE produced 11 assists and four aces. … ISABELLA TIBURZI and BRALEY WISER each had 11 assists in Carlinville’s 20-25, 26-24, 25-23 nonconference loss to Raymond Lincolnwood. JORDYN LOVELESS had nine kills.

BOYS SOCCER

Plains edges Riverton in shootout

RIVERTON — Jackson Nibbe recorded 11 saves, but Riverton fell to Pleasant Plains 6-5 in a penalty shootout in Sangamo Conference play.

Isaac Crumrine assisted Julian Rice for a 1-0 Riverton lead in the opening two minutes but Plains’ Jackson Dent followed with a goal five minutes later. Neither team scored in the second half.

Edson Frey had two saves for Plains.

IN OTHER NEWS: Carlinville's WILL MEYER scored on an assist from GAVIN NORWOOD in a 1-1 nonconference tie against Sacred Heart-Griffin.

BOYS GOLF

Castleberry, Lincolnwood earn win

AUBURN — Medalist Zeke Castleberry carded 4-over-par 40 to lift Raymond Lincolnwood to a triangular victory at Edgewood Golf Course on Monday.

Nolan Fester led runner-up North Mac with a 42.

On the girls side, Kennady Klinger and Rian Deardorff each shot a 49 in Lincolnwood’s team victory over Litchfield at Carlinville Country Club.
