PREP SPORTS: Hanceville's Leeth named Athlete of the Week

Oct. 3—Marquies Leeth couldn't be stopped last Friday night.

The junior running back ran through Lawrence County's defense, racking up 233 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries to propel the Bulldogs to a 32-17 home victory over the Red Devils.

His scores covered 28, 4 and 13 yards.

▶ Reagan Parris, Paizley Whitlow, Macie Huffstutler, Kynzlie Myrex and Daisy Mavers, Cold Springs: Helped the Eagles win the Class 1A-2A title at the Kudzu Hills Invitational.

▶ Jackson Sessions, Cullman: Had 12 carries for 49 yards and three touchdowns against Mortimer Jordan.

▶ Cooper Ogstad, Cullman: Had eight catches for 95 yards against Mortimer Jordan.

▶ Nick Holland, Cullman: Had five catches for 74 yards against Mortimer Jordan.

▶ Tanner Gaines, Cullman: Completed 24-of-34 passes for 226 yards and two interceptions against Mortimer Jordan.

▶ Alex England, Fairview: Ran a 16:35.36 to win the Class 5A-7A race at the Kudzu Hills Invitational.

▶ Landon Bagwell, Good Hope: Had nine tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception against Addison.

▶ Tucker Malin, Good Hope: Had 156 all-purpose yards and four tackles against Addison.

▶ Hunter Black, Hanceville: Completed 12-of-21 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns against Lawrence County.

▶ Ashton Hurst, Hanceville: Had two catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns against Lawrence County. Had three tackles and a sack.

▶ Brady Cleek, Hanceville: Had eight tackles against Lawrence County.

▶ LJ Smith, Hanceville: Had seven tackles against Lawrence County.

Eli Akin, Hanceville: Had six tackles (one for loss) against Lawrence County.
