PREP BASEBALL: Salt Fork gets past Watseka

Apr. 18—CATLIN — Hayden Chew came through at the right time for the Salt Fork baseball team on Thursday

Chew hit the game-winning single as the Storm rallied to beat Watseka 6-5.

Jameson Remole had two hits and a RBI for Salt Fork, who had a 4-2 lead after the second inning before Watseka would make it5-4 in the fourth, while Hayden Maloney had two hits and Brayden Norton and Evan Hageman each had one RBI.

Chew also got the win on the mound with five strikeouts in relief of starting pitcher Deegan Albert for the Storm, who are 6-8 and 2-2 in the Vermilion Valley Conference and will take on Oakwood on Friday.
