Predictions for Tennessee-Clemson Orange Bowl game

The 2022 Orange Bowl is quickly drawing near as the Tennessee Volunteers (10-2, 6-2 SEC) and Clemson Tigers (11-2, 8-0 ACC) prepare to do battle in South Florida’s New Year’s Six game.

The Vols arrive in South Florida on the heels of a campaign that was flying high until it quickly deflated late in the season. On the other side of the field are the Tigers, who earned the Atlantic Coast Conference title this year despite some stiff competition.

Unfortunately for Tennessee fans, Josh Heupel’s crew will be a bit short-handed. In addition to Hendon Hooker’s ACL injury keeping him sidelined, other players opted out. However, Clemson has traded its regular-season starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei for Cade Klubnik who looked good in the ACC title game but is still a bit of an unknown quantity.

Dan Harralson: Tennessee 28, Clemson 27

Ken Lay: Clemson 28, Tennessee 23

Adam Dubbin: Clemson 33, Tennessee 24
