Predicting the NFC East standings after Week 4 of 2020 NFL season

Through three weeks of the season, the NFC East is once again the worst division in the NFL, with a brutal 2-9-1 record. While both the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles were expected to be pretty good coming into this season, neither has lived up to expectations, and many are questioning who is going to step up and take the division lead, potentially holding onto it into the playoffs.

Going into Week 4, it may be another grim outlook for the four teams, with only the Dallas Cowboys having a seemingly winnable game. The Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns, who have been mediocre so far this year, and I don’t think it would shock anyone to see Dallas struggle to put that one away. The Eagles then look to face the San Francisco 49ers, who have been impressive despite their massive amount of injuries so far. We already know that Washington will likely have a tough time with the Baltimore Ravens, and the New York Giants will travel cross country to take on the Los Angeles Rams.

So how do we see these results shaking out this week? Well…

Dallas Cowboys: Win
Washington Football Team: Loss
Philadelphia Eagles: Loss
New York Giants: Loss

If our predictions hold true, it won’t do much as far as division standings go, with the Cowboys simply inching ahead of Washington for the No. 1 spot. Washington would move into a solo second-place. Philly would remain in 3rd at 0-3-1, and NY would stay winless in last place.

A grim outlook for the NFC East? If you aren’t used to it by now, you’d better get there quickly. We’re in yet another year where it looks like the division could be won by the first person to get to seven wins.
